Live from the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Announcers are Joey Styles & Tazz
By: John Cavanagh

Last week we saw many things happen, from CM Punk making his in ring debut, to Big Show and Batista getting booed out of the building. Punk is expected in ring again tonight, and we can guess that Big Show will have a few words for Sabu after what happened at the end of last weeks show. RVD’s suspension is finally up, how that plays in to tonights show is anybody’s guess. All that and Sabu vs. Kurt Angle for the #1 Contendership will take place tonight! Oh and you might see some other original ECW wrestlers if your lucky, but don’t hold your breath.

A recap from last weeks match between Sandman and Dreamer vs. Test and Knox starts the show with an overview of all the major bumps during the match along with Heyman’s interference towards the end.

Opening video package.

We’re welcomed by Joey Styles as he tells us that we’re LIVE from Nashville, Tenn.

Mike Knox makes his way down to the ring with Kelly in tow.

Mike Knox (w/ Kelly) vs. Tommy Dreamer

Tommy enters the ring but Knox wastes little time before beating on the cuts and bruises that Tommy got from last week. Tommy forces his way up and clotheslines Knox over the ropes to the outside. He irishwhips Knox in to the steel steps and gets back in to the ring. Knox tries getting in by ramming his shoulder in to Dreamers ribs. Tommy holds him off long enough to set up an elbow drop through the middle rope. Heyman runs to ringside along with his personal enforcers and distracts the referee. Dreamer hits his DDT but is pulled out of the ring by Heyman’s guards who proceed to double up on him. They roll him in to the ring and Knox hits his corkscrew finisher and gets the pin.

Winner: Mike Knox

Heyman and his men are in the ring with Dreamer laid out in the middle of the ring. All three start to walk towards him as he crawls to the corner. Sandman’s music hits and he’s making his way to the ring.

Commercials.

We’re back and Sandman is guarding Dreamer in the corner with his cane raised high. Heyman tells him that he knows Sandman is upset about Tommy, and that he is too. He says that Dreamer is a disciple, and that he loves him like a son. Heyman says he was going to make a rematch tonight but due to Tommy’s medical condition he’s not fit to wrestle. So instead tonight we’ll see Sandman vs. Mike Knox and Test in a handicap match, which will not be under extreme rules. And it is apparently happening now.

Sandman vs. Mike Knox and Test

Sandman and Knox are circling inside the ring. Test makes his way down and cheap shots Dreamer. They have him in the corner and are taking turn trading punches on him. They throw him in the opposite corner but he’s able to missile drop kick Knox. He doesn’t keep the upper hand long as both men are again using him as a test dummy. Test goes up top for an elbow drop but Sandman rolls out of the ring. He re-enters with his cane in hand and canes the hell out of both men, being DQ’d in the process. Didn’t see THAT coming…

Winner by DQ: Mike Knox and Test

Sandman celebrates in the ring while the two men get themselves together and walk to the back.

Next we get a Sabu video package and a recap of what happened in the past two weeks between him and Big Show. Sabu says that he’s been demanding a title shot and that Big Show has been avoiding him, Sabu tells Angle that after he beats him he’ll get what he wants.

Commercials.

That pesky Balls Mahoney is back again and says that he loves everything about ECW.

Vampire and Ariel make their way to the ring and Ariel may very well have a better entrance than Melina.

Kevin Thorn (w/Ariel) vs. Al Snow

Ariel tries to distract Snow from entering the ring so Thorn could get a cheap shot in, but Snow had it scouted. Al sweeps Thorns legs and gets a one count. The two exchange fists in the corner. Thorn works on Snow’s ribs with a massive spear to the chest, he then just starts throwing random combinations of punches and kicks. Thorn lines up the top rope stunner (what is that things name people?) on Snow and hits it. Then sets up the crucifix powerbomb and gets the pin.

Winner: Kevin Thorn

We then get a video package for Kurt Angle’s return. Kurt then cuts a promo on Sabu, he say that tonight for the first time in his life, that the only thing truly suicidal is stepping in to the ring with the wrestling machine.

Commercials.

Rene Dupree says that he will soon be the most extreme athlete in the history of ECW. Boy, this new ECW is quickly becoming the island of misfit toys…

The ECW World Champion Big Show makes his way down to the ring in one suave looking suit.

Show says he knows what we’re thinking, that the ECW champion has never looked so good, and that he’s here to add a little dignity, class, and respect to the ECW brand. He says that if anyone has a problem that there’s not a damn thing they can do about it. Show says he’ll crush Angle’s spine like he crushes crackers for his soup if he gets in his path, and that if Sabu gets in his path then he would be committing suicide. There’s only one extreme truth in this world, no one can beat him.

Show leaves the ring and we’re off to…

commercials.

We return to a recap of CM Punks match last week. Punk says that last week he was welcomed in to the ECW family far greater than he was welcomed in to his own. And for that, to the fans, he thanks you. He says all the work, struggle and sacrifice he’s done in his life all culminated to last week. Next week he’ll have another match, and he says he’ll make the most of it again because it’s in his nature.

Kurt Angle vs. Sabu
#1 Contender’s Match

Both men get introduced and it’s announced that this is for the #1 contendership.

The match starts out with Sabu going low for Angles ankle. Angle takes him down and slaps him around, he applies a side head lock with a scissors leg lock but both are near the ropes and Sabu puts his foot on the ropes. Styles tells us that this will not be an extreme rules match. Angle takes Sabu down again in to another headlock. Angle goes off the ropes but gets caught up in a drop toe hold by Sabu. Sabu tries for a suplex but Angle lifts him up and rams him in to the turnbuckle. Angle tosses him in to another corner, and then another, he goes for a spear but Sabu moves just in time. Sabu takes advantage of the injured Kurt and throws him over the top rope.

Angle is back in the ring and picks Sabu up, throws him in to the ropes but Sabu jumps off the second ropes and launches back to hit a DDT on Angle. He goes for a pin but can’t get three. Sabu has the momentum and is beating on Angle in the corner. The two men get back in to the center of the ring and Angle hits an over the head belly-to-belly suplex. Angle kicks Sabu through the bottom rope and joins him on the outside with a firemans carry on to the outside mats. He rolls him back in to the rings but only gets a two count. Kurt has a rear chokehold locked in, Sabu makes his way out but Kurt’s legs are still holding on. Sabu finally gets free and takes Kurt down with a side leg kick off the middle rope. Sabu then hits a leg drop over the top rope, but Angle manages to kick out. Kurt connects for a german suplex, then a release german suplex. Kurt lines up the Angle Slam but Sabu is able to counter, and connects two straight side drop kicks. Sabu goes for his Camel Clutch but Kurt counters and locks in the Ankle Lock, but Sabu is able to use his momentum to send Kurt to the outside. Sabu rolls him in to the ring and goes up top for a frog splash, but still only gets a two. Angle once again gets Sabu in to the Ankle Lock but in runs RVD who completely misses a Van Daminator on Kurt, who still sells the move anyway. RVD beats down on Kurt as the Ref calls for the DQ.

Winner by DQ: Kurt Angle?

Rob points to Sabu and Sabu is happy, smiling along. Rob then uses the chair to hit Sabu with a baseball slide. Rob celebrates in the ring while saying that he’s ECW.
