[TNA] Three Weeks of iMPACT! (Spoilers)

Archive

The next three weeks of TNA iMPACT! — spoiler report courtesy Alan J. Wojcik:

Tonight TNA Wrestling taped three episodes of the Spike TV based Impact show. By the end of tonight we should have a good idea of the top matches for the September No Surrender PPV. Booby Roode and Traci Brooks sat behind me watching some of the event, rather see them in the ring. Mike Tenay and Don West were in the ring for some sort of bumper lead-ins for the show. Hour two and three were done without pre-tapes for the fans to view. Scott Steiner was not seen in any of the shows, unless he was in pre-tapes.

Hour one results:

The ring was set up for a celebration of sorts. Complete with a table of champagne with several glasses, balloons and air cannons to fire off confetti (doubt there will be any fireworks.) But before the party kicked officially kicked off NWA World Tag Team champion “Phenomenal” AJ Styles and “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels brawled to ringside area with LAX. Hotstuff Hernandez and Styles fought in the crowd while Homicide busted Daniels forehead open after driving it into the announce table. Konnan asked Daniels how did he like tasting his own blood. After the foursome fought in the ring some more, Konnan seemed to end it when he busted a champagne bottle over Styles’ head. This led to Monty Brown, Rhino, Brother Runt, Abyss and Samoa Joe joining the fight. Jeff Jarrett came out clearly upset his celebration was ruined. The lights went out and when they came on Sting with the trusty baseball bat laid out all the heels minus Jarrett. Sting said the fans were behind him and said Christian Cage beat him for the championship not Jarrett. Sting said at Bound For Glory he wanted a rematch, not at No Surrender. Maybe he has something in mind for No Surrender.

Before the opening match it took several and I do mean several minutes to clean up the carnage left by the brawling. They filmed something with Konnan and Moody Jack Melendez about why they attacked the champions. Konnan said they would fight them in a Border Brawl or something like that.

Jeremy Borash waited outside Jeff Jarrett’s locker room when Eric Young came out looking as confused as he normally is. Borash tried to get information from Young as to whether Jarrett accepted Sting’s challenge or declined it.

(1) Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal and “the Future” Chris Sabin defeated Alex Shelley and “Hotshot” Johnny Devine of Paparazzi Productions and Petey Williams.

Shelley and Devine were still wearing the “KEV” armbands for their homeboy Kevin Nash. As soon as the bell sounded they were attacked in the ring and above it by their opponents. After Dutt, Sabin and Lethal hit topes’ to the floor, Earl Hebner came out of nowhere and attacked Slick Johnson with a belt. TNA security tried to get him out but he whipped them too. Andrew Thomas came out to replace Slick who ran for higher ground. As this went on Lethal was worked over by his opponents for several moments. Dutt tagged in and things really got fast paced. Sabin and Lethal rowed Williams and Devine’s legs like boat oars. Sabin got hit in the corner by Williams and Shelley but he avoided Devine’s splash. Lethal and Dutt leg lariats cleared the ring and the trio ran corner shots on Devine who was pinned after Sabin hit a slingshot legdrop move.

Mike Tenay and Don West spoke to the home crowd.

(2) In a four way singles match, Chase Stevens of the Naturals defeated Frankie “the Future” Kazarian, BG James of the James Gang and America’s Most Wanted’s “Wildcat” Chris Harris (w/Gail Kim.) By winning this match the Naturals were named the number one contenders to the NWA World Tag Team championship.

Kazarian and Stevens began the match with Stevens on the offensive until Kazarian hit a tornado DDT for two. BG became involved as Harris hit Kazarian with a spinebuster. If that foursome fighting all over wasn’t crazy enough, “Tennessee Cowboy” James Storm got involved as he went to aid Harris but nearly decked him with his beer bottle. As Harris and Storm argued, Stevens picked up Harris’ handcuffs and decked Harris. After the bell Storm and Harris got very close to fighting, at one point Storm gave Harris a two middle finger salute and used some colorful language. Kim did her best to defuse the situation but we might have seen the implosion of AMW.

(3) Samoa Joe defeated Ron “the Truth” Killings.

The former two time NWA World champion began the match with punches to Joe’s face but got decked by Joe. Joe got hit with a running boot that sent him to the floor, so Killings hit a spinning flip thing onto him. Joe broke up Killings talking to the fans with a punch to the jaw and tossed Killings back in the ring. But killings backed Joe into a corner for ten punches but the What’s Up chanting by Killings led to Joe hitting a standing STO. Joe hit Killings with several moves that led to the facewash and the Ole Kick in the corner. Joe took Killings to the mat with what looked like a chinlock but Killings fought to his feet but his attack was stopped by a powerslam for two. Joe went for a cross armbreaker but Killings got his foot on the rope. Killings missed the scissor kick but didn’t miss a suplex into a sitout facebuster move for two. Killings went up top but Joe stopped him and he hit Killings with the dreaded Muscle Buster to remain undefeated. But it appears during the match Joe sustained some damage to his ear drum as a result of a Killings shot. I am not 100% sure about this but its what I was told by some people.

Jeremy Borash spoke to Jeff Jarrett about Sting’s challenge from earlier this evening. Jarrett said he had a challenge for the October PPV, Sting’s career against the NWA World title belt. Jarrett said he wanted an answer by the end of the next Impact.

Hour two results:

(1) In a Border Brawl, Latin American Exchange members Hotstuff Hernandez and “Notorious 187” Homicide (w/Konnan) became NWA World Tag Team champions when they defeated “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels and “Phenomenal” AJ Styles.

The champions came dressed to fight not wrestle. The four some fought on the floor using camera cord, bottles and anything else they could grab. Hernandez and Daniels fought over towards Tenay and West. Daniels flew from the crowd over the table and hit a plancha. Homicide and Styles fought up and down the good guy entryway. Styles’ head wound was reopened by Homicide as Daniels and Hernandez came into the ring. Homicide continued to wear out Styles on the floor. Daniels fought back but his attempt at a chair springboard move into Hernandez led to Daniels’ head going into the chair. The LAX got a table from under the ring and I don’t think they had eating in mind. Styles finally got in the ring and fought both of LAX, dropkicking Hernandez to the floor and then flying over the top after him. This left Homicide and Daniels alone in the ring. Daniels went for the top rope Angel’s Wings but Konnan hit Daniels with the sock puppet. This allowed Homicide to counter and drive Daniels into the table with an Acecrusher to win the titles. That move reopened Daniels forehead as Styles came back to aid his fallen comrade.

(2) Alex Shelley and “Hotshot” Johnny Devine of Paparazzi Productions defeated The Naturals (Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas).

Shane Douglas came out and told the fans and TNA “I Told You” as the Naturals were now in contention for title gold. A lesson was learned early on; don’t mock the Naturals new hairstyles. That little trick led to Devine and Shelley having their butts kicked for several minutes. Douglas went for a tope’ to the floor but Shelley saved Devine from the hit and Douglas hit floor instead. Devine and Shelley made several tags wearing out Douglas but getting the victory. Devine missed a top rope move and this allowed Stevens to tag in. The Naturals went for their new finisher but Shelley snuck in, knocked Douglas off the top rope and this allowed Stevens to be pinned to the shock of all. Shane Douglas came back out to verbally bitch slap the Naturals as the Paparazzi stayed at ringside to film the altercation.

“Captain Charisma” Christian Cage came to the ring from the heel entryway to a chorus of boos. Cage took the mic and took a seat in the ring as the fans chanted you suck. Cage said Sting lied to everyone when he said he would be the champion. Sting’s faith came into question by Cage as he said he was god (I fear a lawsuit coming.) Cage was interrupted by Rhino a question he asked Cage at the last PPV (what question??) Cage brought up Rhino’s recovery from a broken neck, how it was him not Sting who was there for him. Cage talked about Rhino’s divorce and how he was there not Sting. Cage handed Rhino the chair and said he was going to turn his back on Rhino. When Rhino wouldn’t hit him, Cage goaded Rhino on by mentioning his bigger money, bigger house and bigger level of fame. Rhino tossed the chair down on the mat and said he didn’t need a chair to kick Cage’s ass. Rhino beat down Cage but when he went for the GORE but Cage threw the chair into Rhino’s path. Rhino’s forehead was cut open as Cage went for a second chair for an old school chairscendo. Rhino was offered assistance to the locker room by the referees and security but walked out on his own.

(3) Abyss (w/Father James Mitchell) defeated Cassidy Riley.

Riley returned at the PPV in a tag team victory. Tonight however he ran into an angry Abyss. Mitchell joined Mike Tenay and Don West for some brief commentary, but placed a satchel of tacks in a corner. Riley tried for a handspring move but got a German suplex in return. One Black Hole Slam later and Riley was defeated as Mitchell spread some tacks on the announce table. Abyss grabbed the satchel of tacks and spread them out so he could drive his fist into them.

Mike Tenay and Don West showed the home fans the contract for Bound For Glory when Jeff Jarrett came out to see the papers. Jarrett took the contract and said next week we would get a public execution.

Hour three results:

The new NWA World Tag Team champions Latin American Xchange (Hotstuff Hernandez and “the Notorious 187” Homicide w/Konnan) came out to the ringside area. Konnan said you can stop the revolutionary but you can’t stop the revolution. He dedicated the titles to their parents and every Latino who suffered oppression in wrestling and life in general. On screen came AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels who said they exercised the rematch clause for the PPV for a first ever tag team Ultimate X match.

(1) “The Future” Chris Sabin and Jay Lethal defeated Petey Williams and NWA World X Division champion Senshe.

Sabin and Lethal controlled the match until Senshe began to use the martial arts skills on Lethal’s chest. Williams came in and saluted his home nation on Lethal’s package. Sabin could only watch as the beating went on until Lethal hiptossed Senshe and hit a dropkick to the chest. Sabin tagged in and the foursome fought as Senshe and Williams got caught in a corner as Sabin hit a springboard dropkick to Williams face off Lethal’ back. Lethal ended up on the floor as Sabin went to hit Williams with the Cradle Shock. Williams countered out but Sabin ran him into Senshe. Senshe traded words with Williams as Sabin got to his feet. Williams was hit with what looked like a standing backbreaker into a facebuster of some sort.

Off camera Jeremy Borash told the fans that due to the fire last night Eric Young was more paranoid then normal. He felt Jim Cornette was going to fire him as a result of the fire. Borash asked the fans to help him boost Young’s confidence and be on his side for the next match. The crowd was already on Young’s side, in on the secret.

(2) “Showtime” Eric Young defeated Shark Boy

Young and Shark traded armlocks and other moves until Shark dropped Young’s face on a knee. Shark went to bite Young’s ass but Young moved and actually bit Shark on the ass. Shark recovered and went for his finisher but Young blocked it, which led to Young hitting the wheel barrel into the neckbreaker. After Slick Johnson counted the pin he was once again attacked by Earl Hebner who clearly needs a bath then a psych evaluation.

(3) In a 10,000 thumbtacks match, Abyss (w/Father James Mitchell) defeated Brother Runt.

A pit of tacks was placed at the side of each entry way and a bag of tacks were hung on a pole in two separate corners. This was violent from the opening bell. Runt grabbed a bag and hit Abyss with it a few times before spreading them out in the ring. Runt went to the air but Abyss caught him on the floor. Abyss got a folding table and grabbed one of the pits of tacks and placed it on the table. Then he placed another table on top of the tacks. Abyss grabbed Runt and punched him a few times. Abyss went to the babyface entry way and with Mitchell’s help once more carried the tacks to the table that was in the tacks. But abyss was stopped from his power bomb as Runt punched his way out. He dragged Abyss back to the ring but when Abyss went to repeat the smush of Runt’s face, Runt moved and Abyss stomped tacks. Abyss won the match when he chokeslammed Runt into the tack in the ring. Raven stood over the tables Abyss had set up earlier as Abyss dragged Runt up the entry way. Raven momentarily disappeared but came back as Abyss went to press slam Runt into the tacks and tables. After trading punches and attempts at DDT’s Raven ended up sending Abyss crashing into the tacks and tables with a sickening thud!!

A hangman’s noose fell from the rafters. A tombstone was placed in the ring along with a table that had the contract for Bound For Glory in October. The tombstone read “Sting R.I.P.: November 28, 1985-October 22, 2006.” Lastly three men dressed in black carrying machine guns walked into the ring (very Stallone action movie like.) NWA World Heavyweight champion Jeff Jarrett made his way to the ring to a thundering round of boos. Jarrett demanded two fans be tossed from ringside for some unknown reason. Jarrett said certain countries hold public executions and tonight capital punishment was alive and well on Planet Jarrett. He teased putting Sting’s career in front of the firing squad and the noose. Instead Jarrett said his weapon of choice was the pen he was using to sign the contract for the match with Sting. The phone on the announce table rang and Don West answered. Jim Cornette was on the line wanting to talk to Jarrett. Cornette said he was going to rain on the execution. Cornette said he was sick of the grandstanding and plots from the champion. Cornette said next week he would put Jarrett on public trial with a polygraph (Cornette must not watch Law and Order as polygraphs are normally inadmissible in trials.) If Jarrett passes the test he can take time off until the October PPV, if he fails the test in anyway the fans would get a chance to get even with Jarrett. Cornette ended by asking who Jarrett feared more Sting or the fans of Orlando. The fans went crazy as they could hold Jarrett’s fate in their hands come September 4th.

The following were matches for Xplosion and Global Impact:

(1) Sonjay Dutt defeated A1 after hitting Sliced Bread #2 and a standing shooting star press.

(2) The Naturals (Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas) defeated Frankie “the Future” Kazarian and “Maverick” Matt Bentley.

Before the match Shane Douglas told the fans this was the Naturals last shot to show him they got it or he was hitting the bricks. The Naturals won with their new finisher and shook hands with Shane Douglas.

(3) NWA World X Division champion Senshe defeated Shark Boy when he hit the top rope foot stomp to Shark’s chest.

Announced and possible No Surrender PPV that suddenly feels like a throw away event with the focus tonight strongly on Detroit:

***In a Tag Team Ultimate X match, NWA World Tag Team champion Latin American Xchange (Hotstuff Hernandez and “the Notorious 187” Homicide w/Konnan) vs. “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels and “Phenomenal” AJ Styles

NWA World X Division champion Senshe vs. “the Future” Chris Sabin (based on the stipulation of Shelley/Sabin from Hard Justice)

Rhino vs. “Captain Charisma” Christian Cage (guessing)

Raven vs. Abyss (w/Father James Mitchell) (guessing)
