[WWE] Notes From Summerslam

Archive

Some notes from last night’s Summerslam PPV:

– Carlito beat Rob Conway in a pre-show dark match.

– Joey Styles and Tazz left ringside during the Edge/Cena video package

– Shawn Michaels seemed to have gotten a stinger in his arm last night, as it was feared he injured his shoulder, and he was concerned, but walking around backstage moving his arm around.

– Mick Foley needed 25 stitches after his match.

– Many wrestlers felt that HHH, Shawn and the McMahons got away with stuff in their match that others wouldn’t have been able to, such as ignoring the ref, HHH’s recovery from his beat down, etc. There is also speculation that HHH wasn’t happy that Hogan got a bigger crowd reaction than DX, despite trying to get a pop out of the crowd by name-dropping Boston.

– HHH’s family was at ringside, and he went over to them after the match.

– Kurt Angle was originally scheduled to be a part of the ECW Title match, making it a three-way contest. He’ll be wrestling a short match at tonight’s ECW house show to see how his groin’s holding up.

– JBL’s commentary about Eddie Guerrero and “the wagon” and some other comments rubbed a lot of people in the company the wrong way.
