As has been rumored for weeks, WWE.com has posted this story announcing that Trish Stratus is retiring after the September Unforgiven PPV in Toronto. WWE.com is selling it as a “breaking story” leaked to the site by Trish’s on-screen rival, and current Women’s Champion, Lita.
In the article, Lita is quoted as saying:
“Trish was saying that the road has been taking its toll on her and it was time to take some time for herself … but the hardest part was that she couldn’t decide how to tell her fans. Well, being the good friend that I am, I figured I’d break the news through WWE.com to alleviate her worries and save her the trouble of figuring out how to let down all her fans like that.”
Also on WWE.com, the company has posted reactions from some RAW wrestlers on Kurt Angle’s release, as well as a story on Candice being addicted to spray-on tan.
