Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat – (Episode 14)

Cue the music..cue the entrances..cue the video game effects with each team being shown together as it gets loaded onto your TV or computer screen. The “alumni” are dressed in black, while the “fresh meat” are dressed in red. Oh..and it’s TJ Lavin as the host playing this “video game”…

We start off with Derrick and Diem STILL being excited that Kenny and Tina beat Theo and Chanda in the last exile. They seem to want to form an alliance with them maybe. Diem says the money would mean a lot to her, since she has $60,000 in hospital bills to pay due to her cancer. Derrick tells her to rest up for the next challenge.

Darrell is working out and getting ready. One team is going home before the finals and the chance at $250,000. Tina thinks Darrell and Derrick will put her up against Wes. She doesn’t know if they can beat the “exile king and queen”, though. It’s an important day to say the least.

TJ now explains the rules of this challenge to the teams. It is called “What a Croc”. It’s all about alligators and their “death roll”. Each team member will ride this plastic alligator that spins like it’s in the “death roll”. They have to hang on for the longest time. Whichever team hangs on the longest overall wins. The winners get a Kicker car audio system. And the twist is that the winners also decide BOTH teams to go into exile. The winners of this challenge are in the finals for sure, though.

Darrell says he is helping Derrick and Diem as much as he can to make sure they both make it to the finals. Wes doesn’t think there is much strategy involved in this challenge, but is sure that Casey will screw up somehow.

Wes and Casey are up first. They have three tries to last the longest. Wes gets all dizzy at the end as you might expect.

Tina and Kenny are next and they appear to be doing a little better as we spin into our first break!

Commercial time!

We come back and their time is stopped when Kenny touches the pole outside of the alligator. That was due to Kenny’s shirt getting caught on the teeth of the gator and choking him.

Derrick and Diem go next and Diem quickly touches the pole. Derrick is not that happy.

Darrell and Aviv go last and Aviv falls off and Darrell is pissed! Aviv hopes Derrick and Diem win so that they won’t go into exile.

Time for round two and they switch things up with one person on top of the gator and the other underneath. Wes and Casey go next and this position hurts more than the first.

Tina and Kenny go again and they last around the same time. Tina says it’s all about willpower to stay on the alligator the longest.

Derrick and Diem go again and they suck again! Derrick is getting angrier now. Diem hopes this doesn’t cause a problem between them.

Darrell and Aviv go next and they fall off VERY quickly.

All the teams go a third time in the same position. Casey wants Tina and Kenny to win so they can put up Darrell and Derrick. Wes says that Tina and Kenny want to win this challenge really bad. They have another good round, but they are nervous since Derrick and Diem had a great first round. But Derrick and Diem struggle on the last round and Diem doesn’t think they won. Darrell and Aviv continue to SUCK at this challenge to finish us off!

TJ now comes in to tell us the results:

#4 – Darrell and Aviv – 0:27
#3 – Wes and Casey – 1:47
#2 – Derrick and Diem – 3:00

And #1 for the FIRST time – Tina and Kenny – 3:35!!

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! This sucks majorly! No doubt now. I mean they have to put in Darrell and Derrick right? They are the better teams. BUT they are thinking hard. Tina says it’s time for her to get revenge on everyone that sent her to exile!

The final decision is Derrick and Diem vs. Darrell and Aviv, and here come the fireworks. Diem can’t believe it. It means a lot to her to win the money and she is upset. Diem says that she and Derrick didn’t put them into exile and this is how they repay them. Name calling results and it’s what you would expect from trashy Tina! Time for our last break!

Commercial time!

We come back and more talking from Tina and Diem. Diem says they saved Tina and Kenny both times they went into exile or something. Tina says she sees the “big picture”, since she is not a rookie like her. Diem says that Tina is still here because of Kenny. Diem is also disappointed in Kenny for saying he wouldn’t put them into exile. And this was the MOST retarded fight on this show! It was pointless as both people are wrong. Diem should know not to trust anyone and Kenny should have some guts to stand up to Tina. But whatever..that’s how Tina is and that’s why they took the “easy” out and eliminated another good team.

Wait..we are getting rid of one team right now! It’s time for the final “exile”! TJ now explains the rules of exile to Darrell and Aviv and Derrick and Diem. Teams have to carry the weight of the bags they brought with them, grab the team flag, puzzles, start, middle, and end, etc.

Darrell says he has never been in an “elimination round” on these shows, whether that be the gauntlet, the inferno, or the exile. But he is not about to lose now. They all get into the van with their blindfolds on and jump out to start this thing. Darrell and Aviv carry 140 lbs., while Derrick and Diem carry 215 lbs.! MY GOD! Say goodbye to Derrick and Diem unless Darrell and Aviv forget their flag or something.

Derrick gets this bright idea to drop their bags and run to the first “reward puzzle” and hope they complete AND it says “drop all your bags”. Smart plan, if it works. Darrell and Aviv are there as well. Derrick and Diem complete the first puzzle, but it only says they can drop “one bag each”. They take off running to the second puzzle, though, and hope it tells them to drop the other bag there. Darrell and Aviv complete the puzzle as well and they drop one of their bags.

Second puzzle time and Derrick and Diem are there. Here comes Darrell and Aviv. But wait..Derrick and Diem forgot their flag. So did Darrell and Aviv, though, so it’s a race for Derrick and Darrell to get the first flag. They both get back to the first station and they both are informed that they have to have their teammates here to get their flag. Derrick and Darrell run back to get their partners. Diem figures out that she needs to help Derrick and she takes off running. Aviv finally figures that out, but they are still behind! This is CRAZY!

Both teams get their first flags and back to the second puzzle they go! Darrell and Aviv decide to skip this puzzle and move on. Derrick and Diem continue to try, but it’s too late. Darrell and Aviv cross the finish line FIRST!! They get to the finals. Derrick and Diem are eliminated before the finals. Derrick is upset that he fell short again.

Darrell is upset that he sent one of his best friends home. Darrell and Aviv both agree that Diem needs the money more than anyone else does, but what do you do? Derrick feels like he let Diem down. We get clips of them together and stuff. They hug and say goodbye. Diem cries about going back to reality and going back to treatments. She didn’t want this to end, but it has.

Darrell and Aviv make it back to the house. Casey felt bad about sucking the entire game, but that led them to the finals since Tina is a spineless jellyfish, who wants weak competition. Tina is happy and if they win the final challenge, I’m going to throw up!

And we are out until next week with the FINAL episode!

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
