To clarify a news item from yesterday, Joey Styles had no problem doing the lapdance segment with Ariel, and it actually wans’t a rib on him. Back in OVW, Ariel used to dance with Beth Phoenix on and near the announcers, so this is an extension of that gimmick.
In other backstage ECW news, apparently Brian Gewirtz – head RAW writer – was responsible for the Steve Irwin line that Matt Striker recited during his promo on Tuesday night. Of course like all of what goes over the air, Vince McMahon signed off on it. Also, HHH is getting criticism even from those who aren’t known for being “anti-Hunter” due to his “Bingo” comment when arriving at the ECW venue during the TV show this week. With Stephanie supposedly not a fan of Heyman or the new ECW project, this didn’t come as a surprise.
Over on Smackdown, Sylvan was supposedly so “animated” about his rise up the ranks, while in the Gorilla position a few weeks ago, that he is getting de-pushed.
