The Weekly Pulse: TV's Second Wife

Archive

I’ve been super busy this week getting ready for the V3 relaunch in a little over a week. That and I will be out of town by the time you read this. What does all of that mean? You guessed it, I’m not going to talk about much this week. I’m sorry, but it will be well worth it on September 18. I will have a full list of premiere dates of your favorite old shows and “could-be” favorite new shows later, though. I will also tell you which day in this month is LOADED to kill! That’s right. But for now here’s this…

Random Thoughts on Random Shows

‘Standoff’

Another new FOX show and it was just okay to me. The problem with this show is that we don’t know if it’s supposed to be serious or funny. It wants to be taken seriously, but since Ron Livingston is in the lead role and he is most known for the comedy, Office Space, it’s hard to take him seriously. That and the fact he doesn’t act all too serious on the show. It’s like he is always smirking during the whole episode. Not laughing, but no taken it as seriously as it should be. The idea of the show is good, but the verdict is still out. I’ll have to see another episode before making my final decision on this show.

‘Big Brother 7: All-Stars’

This show is ending pretty quickly. We got cut down to our “final four” on Thursday. Girls vs. Guys or Lovers vs. Lovers? It seemed like it would be Erika going home since Mike was the “HOH” and put him and Janelle up for eviction. But Janelle wins “POV” again. Will thought nothing of it, but who would have thought that Janelle winning another “POV” would actually send Will home this week?! Not me. I mean I knew Janelle was ready to turn on Will, but to keep Erika in is not that smart in opinion. Mike is right, though. It can’t be Erika and Janelle in the finals. I don’t like “all-girl” finals as it has happened twice in the last three years. They have to take Mike to the finals, since they can beat Mike. Mike understands that he has no chance to win the whole thing now, but at least he can win something maybe. I really hope Janelle wins, though. I don’t want Erika to win. She made a great move with Janelle this week, but that’s about all she has done. Janelle should be able to beat Mike in the second round of the final “HOH” competition and then it will be her or Erika in the finals. Mike should be there as well, if either girl wants to win. Although, I think Janelle can beat either Mike or Erika. She has won too many competitions to be ignored in the finals. This is her year to win..hopefully! And just as I said that, Mike wins the second round of the “HOH” competition and then he beats Erika in the final round. He is the final “HOH” and he picks Erika to go with him to the “final two”. I can’t blame him, since Janelle can clearly beat either of them, so smart move on his part. But can’t you see Janelle winning “America’s Choice Vote” for the cash prize for the jury members. I think she has that locked up to piss everyone else off again, but she deserves it. I really hope that Mike wins it all, though! I can’t stand Erika’s “smart” attitude now. I could actually see it going either way now. I thought about it and it could be a flip of the coin. I will say it’s going to be Erika winning, though. I don’t want it to come true, but it probably will. Find out on Tuesday!

Now lets take a look at what else has been going on this past week at IPTV!!

Seinfeld Quote of the Week

“Hey, I’m on first and first. How can the same street intersect with itself? I must be at the nexus of the universe.”Kramer from “The Maid”

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…

Columns a.k.a. The Usual Along with Some Extras!!!

Mathan Erhardt is still excited about the new season of ‘The Wire’. He did have a lot of hours of TV watching ahead of him as well. We’ll see if he is caught up this week. But this week he did comment on ‘Entourage’, ‘Deadwood’, ‘Lucky Louie’, ‘Monkey Dust’, ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’, ‘Monk’, ‘Life on Mars’, ‘Saved’, ‘Eureka’, ‘Weeds’, ‘Brotherhood’, and When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts. Ouch! 2 of 12 this week! He finishes up with some Emmy afterthoughts!

Farah Syed is back with another “Post Scriptum” column after a LONG break. This week she talks about writer’s block and how certain writers can continue to make hit show after show, thanks to not coming up with any new ideas. That’s interesting, so you should read it now!

The Weekly Pulse Weekly Poll

Last week, I had a series of polls that all had to do with the question..“Who REALLY SHOULD have won a PrimeTime Emmy Award?” I wanted to know who everyone thought should have won each of the main awards. They happened almost two weeks ago, but I got enough votes that I decided to keep it open for another week. So you can still VOTE here, if you haven’t already. I will tell you the results next week!

I can’t wait for Thursday, September 21 to get here! That day is LOADED to kill! ‘My Name is Earl’, ‘The Office’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Deal or No Deal’, ‘C.S.I.’, ‘Shark’, ‘E.R.’, and ‘Six Degrees’ all make their debut/returns! That proves that Thursday nights are going to be busy for me! And it proves it is also the most important night of the week for all the networks. Other than that, I like Monday, September 18 as well. That looks good. Really, once all the CBS shows start to make their return on Sunday, September 17, the Fall season will officially start! It should be a fun week and it’s only a little over a week away! Imagine that, so is the “V3 Relaunch”! If you are looking forward to a specific day in the next month or so, let me know. I would LOVE to hear what you think. So send them to me!

That’s all I for this week! If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or anything else, send them my way!

Remember..“Life Ain’t Always Beautiful, but It’s a Beautiful Ride!”

And as always…“You Can’t Fight Fate!”. See you next week!

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
