The Movie

With the modest success of National Lampoon’s Dorm Daze in 2003, a direct to DVD sequel seemed almost necessary in this era. Throw in the same cast, a small budget and another two hours of bad acting and sex gags and one has Dorm Daze 2.

The group from Billingsley University is back for another romp. Moving from the college campus to a cruise, the film is loosely about a play competition and the returning members’ participation in it. But the film’s true purpose is to demonstrate that a group of actors in their mid 20s can fail as equally as their teenage counterparts in an awful sex comedy.

Dorm Daze 2 has only one redeeming feature about it from beginning to end. With virtually no humor to be found in a weak script, the film functions as an excuse to see beautiful women in various degrees of undress. While that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, the fact that the film’s sole saving grace is its ability to place women in trashy outfits throughout the plot and scenery is rather sad.

What’s even sadder is just how poor the film is actually written. The key to any good teen sex comedy is in how the film portrays its women; a good one puts them on an equal setting with their male counterparts while the bad ones play up women’s roles as purely sex objects. In Dorm Daze 2 the female characters aren’t really women at all. They are barely written above a low level adult film character, as their whole existence revolves around their ability to have sex with men.

The Audio

Presented in a Dolby Digital 5.1 format, the film at least has a good soundtrack to it. The audio uses the full abilities of the format provided, leaving a solid sound to the occasion.

The Video

Presented in a widescreen format, the film has a mediocre transfer. With plenty of colors than run over each other, the film has one of the worst transfers in recent memory.

The Extras

Vida Guerra Featurette is a short feature that focuses on the photo shoot of the women of the film. With nothing of note being said, it is worth viewing if only to see the female members of the cat parading around in next to no clothing for the bulk of the running time.

Deleted Scenes number seven and it’s easy to see why they’re not in the film as they really don’t add much to the film.

The Inside Pulse
It’s weird to think that Dorm Daze 2 came from the same label that several great movies came from, including Animal House. With one of the worst scripts ever, this direct to DVD film is further proof that even beautiful women in the skimpiest of clothes can’t redeem a terrible film.
