Big Brother All Stars: Finale

Archive

One more hour with the houseguests before we get our lives back.

Previously, on the best season of any reality show ever, 14 former houseguests moved into the All-Star house, Alison went out first, then Nakomis, Jase, and Diane, Kaysar still couldn’t make it as far as the jury, Marcellas pouted, James and Danielle were betrayed by Chilltown, Howie enjoyed the boobies, Chicken George made every Thursday look like Halloween, Janelle finally turned on Will, Janelle got evicted, and we now have for your final two pleasure: Mike “Boogie” Malin and Erika Landin.

Before a live cheering crowd, Julie welcomes us to the finale. “But First” count, 21 seconds.

Back to the jury house and the arrival of Janelle wearing her tiara and a strapless red dress. After the requisite hugs, Janelle explained how she lost. She calls Erika a backstabbing bitch. She says Erika is horrible and says not to let a floater win the game. Marcellas asks what the differences are between a floater and someone with several alliances. Danielle explained her position as well and said Erika was on the block three times and were out each time. Everyone seems to discuss the merits of both players. Will defends Boogie and Marcellas defends Erika. Janelle says she couldn’t deny Chilltown the win because they played the best game. Howie says Erika deserves to win this game more than anyone in the history of the game. George says Erika whispered in everyone’s ear and everyone believed her. Marcellas says Erika was there all alone. Will gives Chilltown credit for being the most obvious alliance and still making it to the final four. Danielle asks everyone not to make it personal.

Back from commercial, we get the final tribal council, uh, I mean jury session. Marcellas asks them for their best strategical move. Erika says getting Janelle to vote out Will. Boogie says not using special power that he had and keeping Janelle in the game. George asks Boogie if he would ask Erika to marry her on the live finale. He says no. He asks Erika about her whispering in his ear but later voting him out. Erika said she feels horrible. Mike gives a strange facial look while she’s speaking and Janelle gives her a thumbs down.

Will and Boogie to their phone thing again to everyone’s applause. Janelle asks Erika if kissing butt and throwing competitions was her strategy. Erika says she would have taken Janelle to the final two if she won the final HOH. Janelle is shaking her head like she doesn’t believe her. Guess Boogie is getting her vote. James asks Erika about her being a flirt and for her comments about not voting for Alison to win BB4 because of the flirtatious way she played the game. Erika says she didn’t come into house to flirt but found a friend in Boogie.

Danielle asks Erika if it was her decision or Chilltown’s decision to get rid of her. She says Chilltown had influence but it was her decision. Danielle asked Boogie about when she called him “her new Jason.” Boogie says if she doesn’t hear herself call any other houseguest that when she goes back and watches the series at home, he’ll give her half of the money. Howie asks Boogie about his “Bros before hos” statement and why he was voted out. Boogie says he had to get him out of the house because they were afraid he would never be nominated. When George nominated him, they felt they had to take advantage.

Erika’s closing arguments talks about “the puppetmaster” and she asks the jury if they’d rather vote for the person who did the puppetmaster’s dirty work or the person who put him out.

Boogie admits that except for Will, he lied to all of them in the game and that they were all one big Chilltown alliance. He asked them to vote like all-stars and vote for him.

The jury members then come out to the live set one by one to applause.

Marcellas, Howie, James, Danielle, George, Will, Janelle.

It is time for the vote. Marcellas congratulates both of them but is smilingly deplored either of them made the final two. Howie says it’s hard to justify giving money to someone who owns six restaurants but tells Erika that he thinks America hates her. He promotes his site as well. Danielle says she’s not used to this. She congratulates them and says her winner has devotion, deception, and ultimate floating. George congratulates them and says he has to vote for the player who played the best game. Will says he says Boogie helped him win BB2. Tells Erika she can still call him the puppetmaster. Janelle says they both played an amazing game and she says she’s voting for the best player of the season. James says he’s voting for the same reason.

Back from commercial, we are joined by the first five evicted houseguests. Kaysar reveals to her alliance that James had a chip on his shoulder against Janelle. They show clips of James badmouthing Janelle. Janelle says she thought James still had her back but calls him a whiner. James says he apologized to Janelle but he was bitter about how the Season 6 alliance lied to him for not putting up Chilltown. Jase and Diane do the phone thing and openly admit the Mr. and Mrs. Smith pre-show alliance (again no mention of Toni Ferrari). Jase thought Chilltown’s game was excellent and complimented Will on his game. They show some of the DR phone conversations with the jury-members’ reactions. Danielle laughs at the whole thing. None of the first five evictees think the final two are the most deserving. Nakomis says Janelle and Will deserved to be there. Alison wants to tell Erika that she was played all season long. So they bring in Erika and Boogie into the conversation. She congratulates Boogie for playing Erika and tells Erika that she hopes she wins the money and buys herself some dignity. They show some of the bad things Boogie said about Erika. Erika says she sitting in the final two so it worked. Boogie says it’s an edited television show and just a game. Julie then tells the jury about the $25,000 America’s Choice jury prize just before commercial.

Back from commercial and it’s time to reveal the votes. Julie pulls the keys. Marcellas votes for Erika. Howie votes for Mike. Danielle votes for Mike. George votes for Mike. Will votes for Mike. We do not see the other votes. Boogie wins BB All-stars and Will goes to the door to be the first to congratulate him. They come out. Hugs and kisses all around.
Finally, with the 14 houseguests lined up alongside Julie, we find out that Janelle has won the $25,000 America’s Choice prize (to the surprise of absolutely no one). Boogie says he’s going to invest much of the money and take his business partner to Aruba with the trip he won. Erika says she’s excited about winning $50,000. With that, Julie (and I) thank all the houseguests for an amazing summer.

And thank you for following this amazing game with me. A longtime Survivor fan has a new favourite show and I can’t wait for Big Brother 8. Let’s do this again, shall we?
