Man, I love the Ryder Cup: it’s the only time we get true trash-talking in the sport of golf. (Unless, of course, Fuzzy Zoeller has a couple of beers in him.)
As reported by ESPN.com, Sergio Garcia is going out of his way to deny that he ever said he was looking forward to playing Tiger Woods at the Ryder Cup, even though he’s quoted as saying just that at a news conference in Switzerland two weeks ago.
So, not only is he talking trash about Tiger (big, BIG mistake), but he’s also denying it when confronted by his own words. I knew there was a reason I always considered Sergio a bit of a slimeball. And he really should remember to the last guy dumb enough to badmouth Woods before a match play event.
