Da Return

You can read my review of Glory by Honor V, night 2 here . It was an absolutely amazing show, and my girlfriend, not a wrestling fan, had a good time especially enjoying Naomichi Marufugi vs. Nigel McGuinness.

October 6th and 7th RoH heads to the Midwest to present its Survival of the Fittest annual tournament. This year will be the most stacked line up yet. The qualifying matches already announced are:

Bryan Danielson vs. Samoa Joe

Christopher Daniels vs. Austin Aries

Delirious vs. Jimmy Rave

Davey Richards vs. Matt Sydal

Also scheduled for the tournament are Colt Cabana, Roderick Strong, Jimmy Jacobs, and a graduate of the RoH wrestling school. The past two winners are competing in Strong and Danielson. As the event draws near I will give a more in depth preview.

Ring of Honor News

According to www.rohwrestling.com Bryan Danielson is still in a lot of pain as a result of the shoulder injury sustained wrestling against Colt Cabana. The most recent RoH newswire is spinning this injury to show the resilience of Danielson, and put over that he just may be unstoppable. In all truthiness, Danielson wrestled an amazing match against KENTA on Saturday, and it speaks volumes that he is willing to go above and beyond the call of an independent wrestler and competing while severely hurt. Such is the road of the indy wrestling superstar.

BJ Whitmer on the other hand has an injury that so limited his mobility he wisely chose to take some time off. His ankle is in an air cast, and will soon begin working out. BJ Whitmer will make his return in some time, and he will be making appearances at the upcoming Midwest shows.

Another big story in Ring of Honor is the departure of Prince Nana. The door seems left open for his return, but for the time being the Embassy will be without its leader. Will Jimmy Rave continue his crown jewel gimmick? Will Daizee Haze and Sal Rinauro still be aligned with Rave? I am sure this puts a bit of a wrench in some of RoH’s long term plans, but bigger obstacles have come before the biggest indy in the United States, and they have survived, nay thrived. This should be no different. It is a shame though, because Rave and Rinauro were in the beginning stages of a very good tag team. Hopefully it continues in some form.
