Morrow Stays in Dallas & Malkin Injured

Morrow signs

Brendon Morrow of the Dallas Stars has ended his holdout and has agreed to a $24.6-million, six-year contract to remain in Dallas. Morrow, along with Jere Lehtinen are perhaps the Stars most important players as both men have undoubdetly become marquee players on both ends of the ice.

Its nice to have Modano and maybe even Lindros around, but Lehtinen and Morrow are what make the Stars go and both men has made long term commitments to stay in Dallas this season. What the hell are they thinking?

Evgeni injured by one of his own

During his first NHL pre-season game Evgeni Malkin was crashed into the boards by fellow Penguin John LeClair. Malkin had just made a pass to LeClair who failed to score and then lost his balance when he caught an edge and ran into Malkin behind the net, sending the youngster for a flip and a hard landing down on the ice.

Malkin lay on the ice for 3-4 minutes before being helped off and apparently suffered an “upper body injury” which in playoff talk would mean that he broke his ankle. In pre-season lingo that might mean what it sounds like.

Tough break for sure.

And in Columbus, Sergei Federov injured his shoulder as well and will be out 4-6 weeks. Anyone care?
