Repeat after me, “NO LIFTS!” How many times do I have to tell you? NO LIFTS!
That was what we heard numerous times this week on Dancing with the Stars. I do find it strange that only the best dancers, Mario, Emmitt, Joey, Willa, etc. decided to throw in some lifts here and there. I don’t see what the big deal is, but apparently that’s an automatic points deduction and “against the rules”. I can’t dance so I wouldn’t know, but they are the “experts” so we’ll go with that. I know it’s a “formal dance competition” and that’s fine. That should get deducted some points for “breaking the rules”, but the way they were penalized was a little too much for me. Especially if this was their first time “breaking the rules”. I don’t remember, but if it was they should have gotten a warning or something and THEN if they did it again, servere points deductions. Anyways I STILL enjoyed the lifts myself.
Now it’s time to knock down the couples the judges liked last night and who I don’t really like. Can I first say that Sara Evans was SMOKIN’ HOT this week! But of course, she did great this week, it was HER dance. It was country and she is country. She can’t do that every week, though. Monique has had experience dancing in High School Musical and other things, so that’s why I don’t really like her. Vivica doesn’t do it for me. I don’t know, I just don’t like her. And she did a cartwheel last week and DIDN’T get yelled at for it, but Joey did the same thing and he DOES get yelled at. Doesn’t make sense to me.
That’s who the judges liked, but what about the people? They help decide who goes home. And after adding up the votes Harry is going home! I thought he couldn’t dance at all, so no big deal to me. Not the “shocking event” that they were hinting at. Jerry is STILL in the show, which IS shocking. But he’ll be gone next week for sure. He wanted to do the waltz and he will do it and then leave.
A few more things. I still don’t like the way music is used on the show. I can ignore it for the most part, but when they have a Shaggy song on there and it’s NOT Shaggy singing it, well that’s where I draw the line. It’s Shaggy, there’s only one. It only makes it look like a cheap knockoff and it’s annoying. If you are going to use songs that aren’t by the original artists, like they are, at least don’t use songs or artists that have an unique voice.
A couple of more things. I don’t like the way co-host, Samantha Harris, talks especially when when she is introducing the contestants. It sounds fake for some reason. And why did the musical guest, Vittorio Grigolo, look like “Dr. Evil” Will Kirby from Big Brother? Weird!
