News on No Mercy Main Event & The Boogeyman

News

According to WrestlingObserver.com, the Smackdown main event was changed to a Fatal Four-way match because the company didn’t feel that Lashley was a convincing challenger, as they feel Batista is the top draw on the brand and wanted him in the match (even though they originally cut the Booker/Batista feud short due to the feeling they didn’t match up ideally in the ring). It says something when the three top challengers to Smackdown’s World Title are someone WWE didn’t think was working as well post-injury, a recently-returned-to-action former road agent and a rookie.

In other Smackdown news, during an interview on The Fight Network, Booker T claimed that WWE re-signed Marty Wright (The Boogeyman), who was recently released. WrestlingObserver.com reported this initially but could not confirm it at this time.
