WWE Issues Apology About Last Night’s Nudity

News

WWE has issued the following statement regarding the, uh, “royal slippage” from Sir William Regal in the shower/locker-room scene during last night’s Smackdown No Mercy PPV:

World Wrestling Entertainment would like to apologize to anyone who watched WWE No Mercy and was offended by the William Regal locker room incident. Conduct of this kind is unacceptable in a family-friendly environment, and WWE accepts full responsibility. Nudity of any kind, even in a live television environment, is offensive to our audience and to the reputation of our company.

The statement is important for WWE, of course, but it makes one wonder what exactly “nudity of any kind” entails, and why such an apology wasn’t issued following any of WWE’s “Kiss My Ass” segments. Or what makes this different from Lita’s breast’s special appearance on RAW during the advertised “live sex celebration.” Or what this means with regards to tomorrow’s “extreme strip poker.”
