As the novels of Harry Potter and his magical encounters get longer and longer, the movies will seem to get shorter and shorter.
Just as the Dursleys were cut from Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, house-elf Dobby will be cut from the fifth movie. MTV got a word or two in with Toby Jones who voice Dobby in The Chamber Of Secrets: “I know that the filmmakers have a problem with each new film because the books are getting longer — there’s so much to include in them,” Jones said.
On an odd note, house-elf Kreacher, servant to the family of Sirius Black will make his first apperance as Dobby is non-visible.
In the novelization of Phoenix, Dobby plays some big parts in helping Harry out to avoid trouble. How this will be played out in the movie now remains to be seen, or it may just be cut out all together.
The fifth of seven Harry Potter films comes out July 13, 2007.
