Dave Meltzer at WrestlingObserver.com is reporting that Sunday’s RAW/Smackdown supershow at the Staples Center in Los Angeles will be former World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio’s final match before leaving Smackdown to have knee surgery.
Rey has been working with bad knees for at least a year, and between the death of Eddie Guerrero, Batista’s injury and other injuries and/or suspensions of several members of the Smackdown roster over the past year, he has stuck it out and stayed on the active roster.
His feud with Chavo Guerrero will culminate in an “I Quit” match, where the loser has to leave Smackdown. This match will be announced publicly on this Friday’s Smackdown.
