Wild, Kings

Jaques Lemaire signs extension

The Minnesota Wild have tied up Lemaire for another couple of years, at least as the Wild look to further their position in the Western Conference and the NHL in general. Lemaire has been the headcoach of the Wild since the teams inception in 1998 and won the Jack Adams Trophy for coach of the year in 2002-2003.

KOPITAR!

Three games into his NHL career and the Kings Anze Kopitar has 6 points to lead all rookies in scoring. If you’re on the east coast and haven’t had the chance to see this kid play, make sure you do whenever there is a Kings game being telecast in your area. Kopitar, the first player from Slovenia to ever play in the NHL, was drafted #11 by the Kings at last years NHL draft and he’s quickly being labeled as the Kings new saviour…a role that was apparently supposed to go to Patrick O’Sullivan. Thus far, it seems as if O’Sullivan is having a difficult time adjusting to the NHL game.

Either way, Kopitar can do no wrong at this point and it’s a good bet to say that he’s not done.
