With few big name releases in theatres this Friday, the choices for new films is rather wanting. That won’t keep the talented crew of the Popcorn Junkies from seeing anything worth plunking down cash for.

In Wide Release:

The Marine – Starring WWE Champ John Cena as John Triton, a marine returns home from the field only to have his wife (Kelly Carlson) kidnapped by a bad man (Robert Patrick), his only way of saving her with some weaponry and his wits.

The Grudge 2 – Starring Amber Tamblyn in the sequel to 2004’s The Grudge (a remake of the Japanese film Ju-on: The Grudge), as the spirits in the doomed house overtake another group of unsuspecting victims.

Man Of The Year – Starring Robin Williams as a comedian who decides to run for President . . . and wins.

In limited release:

Shortbus – Follow along with a group of New Yorkers who dwell into an underground salon full of drugs, sex, art, music, and politics.

One Night With The King – The lifestory of a young Jewish girl who grows up and saves the Jewish nation from extinction.

Deliver Us From Evil – A trusted leader in the church actually is a hidden pedophile abusing children for decades.

Tideland – A story of a young girl coping with the death of her mother in strange and unusual ways from the director of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Terry Gilliam.

Infamous – Another look into the life of Truman Capote, starring Toby Jones as the writer whose greatest work would end up destroying his life.

Nearing Grace – A family deals with the loss of their mother in some unhealthy and dangerous ways.

Driving Lessons – A reserved teenage boy begins to live his life as he sees fit working his way out from under his domineering mother with the help of a retired actress.
