Despite reports within the last week about the movie adaptation of Halo being in trouble, the movie still seems to be on it’s way to being made.
FOX and Universal Pictures are apparently no longer involved in the making of or funding for the movie. The companies had wanted to renegotiate their involvement profit wise, but weren’t necessarily concerned with where it was going in terms of direction.
“The reality here at Bungie towers is a feeling of optimism, satisfaction and happiness for reasons we can’t go into. Frankly we’re interested in making the best movie, and it’s possible that a partner who’s more concerned with numbers, might not be the best partner for what’s more vitally a creative process,” said Frank O’Connor of BUNGIE.
BUNGIE and Microsoft Corporation are going to continue moving forward with the project and are certain another studio will pick up on releasing it.
Halo is tentatively scheduled for a July 2008 release. Although with no sure indication the movie will even be made, that date could change tremendously.
