Remote Destination – Weeds 2-11

Shows

Has there even been a show that contained so many “Oh S#it” cliffhanger moments? This season alone we’ve had Agent Whitebread revealing that he knows Nancy is a dealer, the marriage of Nancy and Whitebread, Whitebread busting the Armenians, and finally Whitebread eavesdropping.

(Ok, so upon closer inspection it’s clearly all related to Agent Whitebread, but still those were some killer cliffhangers.)

And that last cliffhanger really made me kind of sympathetic for Whitebread. I mean you could actually see his heartbreaking as Nancy admitted to Conrad that she didn’t love her “husband.” It was a terribly sad and frightening way to end the episode.

Of course this penultimate episode of Season Two it sets up everything for the finale. We see Conrad and Nancy with their backs against the wall in regards to Peter (Whitebread), we know that U-turn is plotting to jack Conrad and Nancy for their stash. We also know that Kat’s on the run from the law and Celia’s homeless. So there are tons of reasons to look forward to the finale.

Still I’ve got to say that until Peter dropped the N bomb, I was fairly sympathetic to him. I felt his pain when eavesdropping last week. I saw the hurt in eyes when he dropped off the oranges this week. But c’mon, it doesn’t matter how hurt you are, there’s no excuse for dropping an N bomb on Conrad. None whatsoever. I do imagine that it was included to make (I’m guessing) his death next week much more palatable.

In the scene with the N bomb, I really felt Nancy’s fear/awkwardness. It was a tough situation and Mary-Louise Parker played it perfectly.

I really can’t wait for the finale.
