It’s a repeat Thursday, so that means a Survivor in the form of a clip show… woohoo? But we’ve still got you covered for the previous episode. It’s very Cao Boi-centric, so just assume that everyone talked about him.
Dan compares Cao Boi to John Cena.
Eliza and Murtz talk about how Parvati is hot. I’m married, and thus have no official comment on that.
Sandra notes that things went wrong for the Hispanics right about when they threw the immunity challenge.
BobDawg BobDawg talks about Nate and Bruce (from last season).
Power Rankings
Remember that this is not an indicator of who I think will win this game.
20. Sekou Bunch (Hiki)
19. Virgilo “Billy” Garcia (Aitu)
18. Cecelia Mansilla (Aitu)
17. J.P. Calderon (Raro)
16. Stephannie Favor (Raro)
15. Anh Tuan “Cao Boi” Bui (Aitu) [14] – I think we all saw this one coming. Cao Boi did the right thing by trying to make a move on the Alliance of Four (plus Sundra), unfortunately his tribe had been winning the Immunity Challenges to this came probably 4 days too late. Cao Boi was definitely a character and it was nice to see him go out trying to play the game. Plan Voodoo was a genius plan. Too bad Yul had the Idol, or it might’ve been buh-bye, Jonathan.
14. Cristina Coria (Raro) [15] – Cristina really didn’t make much of an effort to stay around, going with the “give me one more chance” plea. Still, she seemed to have convinced Brad and perhaps Rebecca to vote out Jenny, but it wasn’t enough to keep her torch lit.
13. Jessica “Flica” Smith (Aitu) [NC] – Flica’s in trouble here. She knows she’s on the outside, and the one person she bonded with is out of the game. If Aitu goes to another Tribal Council she’s probably an easy boot, but if Jonathan sees this as another opportunity to assert some control over her voting, she may move up in the rankings a little bit.
12. Brad Virata (Raro) [WORST PLAYER] [7] – Apparently Brad doesn’t have an alliance with Jenny. As has been said, he somehow missed the “audible” called by the other tribe members and finds himself on the outside looking in again, hence the “worst player” award (although to be honest there wasn’t any standout “bad” player last week). But with the way this tribe rolls Brad will be in with the gang soon enough.
11. Adam Gentry (Raro) [12] – I don’t know about you, but if I were Adam’s tribemate and I saw him flirting with Candice at TC alarms would be going off in my head. To me, that’s an indication that you might flip sides come the merge. I mean, sure, you don’t get to say “I love you, Pumpkin” “I love you, Honey Bunny” a whole lot in this game but keep it to yourself until you get some cuddle time, will ya?
10. Rebecca Borman (Raro) [11] – Right now, Rebecca’s so far under the radar it’s not funny. But she gets 10th because of the “audible” call to vote out Cristina.
9. Jenny Guzon-Bae (Raro) [4] – Jenny’s stock again drops because she almost got voted out, and if it weren’t for the “kidnapping” twist she’d have had her torch doused. She’s seemingly on the outside now but as I noted with Brad she’ll be back in soon enough.
8. Sundra Oakley (Aitu) [NC] – Sundra stays put. She’s in a solid position, but her showing at the Reward Challenge wasn’t that great relative to the others.
7. Nathan “Nate” Gonzalez (Raro) [9] – Strong work by Nate in the Reward Challenge, and by being “kidnapped” he has the opportunity to extract information about Aitu.
A word about the kidnapping – the last time we saw this particular twist, Rupert got kidnapped and proceeded to beat the snot out of his own tribe (Drake) in the next challenge, ostensibly to show them how much they need him. He then returned to Drake with no hard feelings, apparently. It should be interesting to see if Nate can do the same.
6. Parvati Shallow (Raro) [3] – Parvati looks to be firmly in control of the Raro tribe at this point, but with the way these guys roll, she could be out next.
5. Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth (Aitu) [10] – Ozzy now carries the torch alone for the original Aitu. He’s proven himself to be a good food provider and adept at the challenges, which pretty much makes him a big target for the Alliance of Four (plus Sundra) as possibly the final pre-merge bootee. Which would be rather apropos – remember Aitu threw an Immunity Challenge to get rid of Billy.
4. Rebekah “Becky” Lee (Aitu) [5] – Great showing by Becky at the Reward Challenge. She’s sticking with Yul right now, but of course her knowing that Yul had the Immunity Idol meant that there was no way she could go along with Plan Voodoo, so Jonathan’s demise will have to come another day.
3. Candice Woodcock (Aitu) [BEST PLAYER] [6] – Candice’s performance in the Reward Challenge helped to secure an Aitu victory. Like Ozzy, a can opener was required to pry her from her pole. We’ll see if she can keep it up.
2. Yul Kwon (Aitu) [1] – A slight drop for Yul, but only because Jonathan has found himself with a few more “outs” – and Yul with a few less outs – with Cao Boi gone. As Yul kinda said, it was a brilliant plan, with one fatal flaw in it.
1. Jonathan Penner (Aitu) [2] – Jonathan is now in a great position in this game. He realized that Cao Boi was a wild card, and moved to get rid of him – just as Cao Boi was proving him right with “Plan Voodoo”. Now he’s got his “solid” alliance, perhaps a chance to reconnect with Flica, and the possibility of reuniting with Adam and Parvati once the merge happens.
That’s it, that’s all for this week.
