Back in 1978, a truly disgusting “documentary” was released called Faces Of Death. It portrayed nothing more than acts of violent death to humans and animals alike. It didn’t tell a story, didn’t have a plot, and certainly had no real direction. At one point, it was even banned in several countries until it was found to be an elaborate hoax and nothing more then a movie. There are some real accidents mixed in with the staged scenes, but not many.

The cult classic was narrated by Michael Carr, better known as Dr. Francis B. Gross and became so popular that it made way for 5 sequels over a period of 15 years. Well, now it’s coming back as a remake.

J.T. Petty, writer of a number of video games, is in talks to pen and direct the remake. Angry Films’ Susan Montford, Rick Benattar, and Don Murphy are slated to produce.

The remake is said to not be in documentary form but more so along the lines of a low-budget horror film with the focus being on Dr. Gross. How it’s intended to be a remake and not be anything like the original except in name is yet to be determined, but more details are sure to unfold as time goes on.
