Kurt’s Baby Born, to Face Declan McMahon at Wrestlemania XL

News, Ratings

On Thursday night, Kurt Angle and his wife Karen welcomed their new healthy baby boy Kody to the world, according to TNAwrestling.com. Congratulations to Kurt and Karen Angle.

In other news, Thursday’s iMPACT! got a 0.8 cable rating for Sting’s first how since becoming NWA Champion, according to Nielsen Media Research by way of PWTorch.com.

Sting spoke with IGN.com in a lengthy interniew that can be read here. In it, he talks about the stars he feels can carry the relatively young company (Styles, Joe and Abyss — hmm, is this a hint on who he’ll be facing next month?), the upcoming TNA video game, his reaction to meeting Kurt Angle before the surprise was let out of the bag and more. On what TNA needs to do to grow:

We’ve made huge strides all year long. Our ratings continue to grow, our buy rates of our pay-per-views continue to improve, and now with the addition of Kurt Angle, and I know we’ll add more talent along the way, that’s a big piece of the puzzle right there. We also have a new timeslot coming up in primetime, and I believe that will be a huge stepping stone. I’ve been here before, I know what it’s like to be a, I hate to say it, a second-class citizen, but I know what it’s like to finally emerge and be the talk of the town, and I’m just glad that I can be a part of TNA and be associated with people who are moving the same direction. I just love this brand, it’s a great brand.

Unrelated but noteworthy, WrestlingObserver.com reported that ROH is now doing a ten-minute Internet style television show at www.ROHvideos.com.
