Reality Dish Presents Yo Momma Week – Wednesday

Features, Shows

Sam Sarpong is the co-host of Yo Momma with Wilmer Valderrama. He’s the guy that tells the wanna-be trashtalkers in the first round, what they are looking for. He wants to see four things. He wants originality, delivery, quickness, and sting from the jokes that are told. The person that can do all four of these flawlessly will move on to the next round, and may get a chance to tell their jokes in front of Wilmer and everyone else.

Sam was born in London, England. He is 6-feet-tall and his nickname is “Future”. He has a brother named June Sarpong. He started out as a model. In 1998, he won the MAA fashion award for “new male model of the year”. In addition to modeling, he was also part of a music crew called “Future Stars”, which included Mike Kasem, son of famous D.J. Casey Kasem. He has been the lead in various music videos for artists such as Maxwell, The Braxtons, and Ginuwine. In 2000, he was named one of YM Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World”. And again in 2001 and 2002, he was named as one of the “50 Most Beautiful people in the World” in a African-American women’s magazine. Also in 2002, he won an AFI Independent film award for “Best Supporting Actor” for his playing Louis in the film, Street King, co-starring Jon Seda.

So obviously his modeling, musical, and acting background was a lethal combination. Yet, he was still pretty unknown and that was needed when you had Wilmer as the main host, who is pretty well-known. This probably allowed Sam to become the co-host of Yo Momma.

Unforunately, not much else is known about Sam. No other information that I could dig up at least. On Yo Momma, though, he is the guy I like the most. He seems to be the first one to tell you if you suck or not. I don’t know much about the other co-host on the show, Jason, but I figure that Sam is the most musical of the group. So he knows talent when he sees or hears it.

I hope to learn more about Sam and Yo Momma when I interview Sam later this week. I should have full details of that interview on Friday. So stay tuned as YO MOMMA WEEK continues here on RealityDish.com!

Sir Linksalot: Yo Momma

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
