~ Bit of a correction on the proposed writer of next yea’s Saw IV. It was firstly said that Joanna Daniel would be penning the script for the Lionsgate film, but it is actually Thomas Fenton. The confusion came with the truth being both writers have written a film named Red about an updated, more thrilling story about Little Red Riding Hood. Fenton’s was about Little Red growing up to be a werewolf hunter in New York looking for the one who killed her grandmother.

Saw IV is tentatively scheduled to come out October 26, 2007.

~ Fox Atomic gave out tons of Halloween fun throughout the day yesterday revealing clips, pics, and info on lots of new movies coming our way. Click here to see them all.

The first major film we got some goodies from is 28 Weeks Later, which is of course the sequel to 28 Days Later. In Later, it’s been 6 months since the rage virus terrorized the British Isles. The U.S. Army has stepped in to declare war and get things cleaned up. Once they finally believe they have, the survivors are gather together to rebuild their lives and country. It’s too bad though that in one of the first waves of gathered country people coming into the safe city, someone is still infected.

The second major film we are getting some juice on is another sequel, The Hills Have Eyes II. This is the sequel to Alexandre Aja’s 2006 remake of Wes Craven’s 1973 original The Hills Have Eyes about a family breaking down on their way through a desert valley full of radioactive mutants.

In the second film, a group of National Guard troops stop at a desert sight to drop off some sensitive equipment to military scientists. Upon their arrival, the sight is oddly deserted while at the same time they receive a distress signal over their radios. Going off on a thought to be easy rescue mission, they encounter the group of mutants who have been waiting for them.

28 Weeks Later is scheduled for a May 11, 2007 release. The Hills Have Eyes II is due to come out March 2, 2007.

All dates are subject to change.
