Ultimate Marvel Handbook #188

Features

Hey Daron welcome back, what‘s up bud?

Not much, Jimbo. It’s good to be back. Sorry all if the fill in felt a little rushed last week. I completely forgot to inform Jim, and Kevin that it was my week for overnights, until just before the column was supposed to go up. I’d say the guys did a pretty good job in the clutch there.

We’ve got a good week of emails here.. Could be better but we’re getting there.

That’s good, the last thing we want if for me to be bored.

Good idea. Let‘s start.

What’s a good idea? Or were you responding to your own question before you asked it? Regardless, we should indeed start.

so considering that he showed up in the newest daredevil this week i was wondering if i could get a run down on tombstone. plus am i recalling wrong or at one point did tombstone go from a tough normal albino guy to somehow getting a power boost somehow giving him his hard skin and super strength? i imagine you would cover that if it did happen anyway though. thanks.

Sure thing

Real Name: Lonnie Thompson Lincoln
Occupation: Mob Enforcer
Citizenship: USA, with a criminal record
Identity: Publicly known
Group Affiliation: Sinister Twelve, formerly ally of Hammerhead
Base of Operations: New York City
Place of Birth: Harlem, New York
Known Relatives: Unrevealed
First Appearence: Web of Spider- Man #36

Height: 6’7
Weight: 215 lbs
Eyes: Pink
Hair: White
Unusual features: Albino, teeth filed to points

Powers: Tombstone has superhuman strength and durability. His skin is hard as rock.
Abilities: He is a very skilled hand- to- hand combatant and with weapons. He also has a great willpower, which allows him to resist some psychic attacks.

History: Lonnie Lincoln was born an albino in Harlem. He was made fun a lot in high school except from one boy, Joe “Robbie” Robertson, to whom he bullied. What Lonnnie thought was friendship was actually extorting Robertson, although he considered himself loyal to this “friend”. However, Robertson revealed these extortions in the school paper.
After High School, Lincoln (who never really finished his studies) and Robertson separated. Lincoln filed his teeth to points and became a street fighter known as Tombstone, while Robertson was working for a local paper. Lincoln became a professional thug for a Philadelphia organized crime mob and executed “Ozzy” Montana, a local crime boss. One of Robertson’s informers called Robertson but, when Robertson came there, Tombstone had killed the informer and Robertson suddenly became scared at seeing him again.

For twenty years, Robertson could not find the courage to testify against Tombstone. Tombstone himself was arrested a number of times, but the witnesses always disappeared or changed their minds before testifying. Tombstone had such a rep that he was hired by the Arranger and went to New York City to work for him. Tombstone recruited mutant Roland Rayburn, later known as Persuader.

Finally, Robertson found courage to confront Tombstone and saved a tape about his knowledge of Tombstone’s past. Robertson agreed to meet Tombstone on Battery Park, where he tried to make him arrest. However, Tombstone physically overcame Robertson and broke his back. He would have killed Robertson, but his twisted sense of friendship towards him forbid that action.

Robertson’s tape ended in the hands of Peter Parker, a photographer working for Robertson. Tombstone threatened Parker’s wife, Mary Jane Watson, trying to recover the tape. Parker, who was really costumed fighter Spider-Man, then fought Tombstone in Atlanta. Although Tombstone was stronger than Parker first had thought, Parker managed to defeat him. With Robertson’s taped confession, Tombstone was sent to prison.

However, Tombstone testified against Robertson, who was sent to jail as an accessory of murder. Ironically, Robertson and Tombstone shared the same block in jail.

Tombstone broke out of jail and took Robertson with him. He later planned to ambush Robertson at the Osborn Chemical Plant, but was found out by Spider- Man. He was shot by Robertson and sent into a room with an experimental chemical, where he gained his superhuman abilities. He has sinced worked for the Kingpin and Hammerhead and has been a member of the Sinister Twelve.

Notably, Robertson managed to legally get out of jail thanks to the actions of a friendly lawyer.

Bill emails

Okay so I was going to write you after UMH 184 but life keeps a person busy sometimes. But here goes.

Hey Bill. Glad you made time for us.

Completely understood. I hope you don’t expect us to remember what we said 4 weeks ago though. I can’t even remember what I had for breakfast anymore.

Does anyone else feel Civil War is one of the most poorly written stories in some time? It’s all about shock value and making things seem important in the absence of good writing. Issue 4 in particular was just full of bad lazy writing.

I think your delusional. Well I think most of people that don’t like Civil War are but heck I’ll hear your opinion. Like everyone else.

Wow, did Jim just rip someone? Has that happened before? Well don’t feel Bill, Jim gets pretty defense about”¦well”¦just about anything Marvel. However, I’ve actually heard this quite a bit. I’d say more people than not (at least the ones I’ve heard from) pretty much agree with you. But then again, are you really surprised considering it’s Millar? Most of his career has been based on “shock value.”

A perfect example of lazy writing to make this seem more important than it is; is the presence of the Watcher looking sad when Bill Foster dies. Bill Foster is a hero who’s had maybe a total of 10 appearances since the early 1970s. In the Marvel Universe it’s doubtful his death would be the lead story on CNN let alone that the Watcher would care. Think of past stories where the Watcher appeared in person. They involve Galactus or the Infinity Gauntlet – – generally events of cosmic signifigance. Now in Civil War; what really is the signifigance of this battle? Say Tony’s team wins. Okay so then Cap, Vision and a handful of B-list and C-list characters go to jail. Mind you this is a universe where allegedly only 10 years have passed so if you take any villian from the 60s (oh say Electro or Vulture) and they’ve been in one story per year real time over 40 years then presumably Electro (or any other villian) can break out of prison or be parolled about once every three months if you condence that to 10 years. So presumably the stakes are a mild inconveinence at worst for Cap’s team. Now conversely let’s say Cap wins. Well actually how does Cap win? I mean say his team pummels Tony’s team into unconsciousness; Cap’s team are outlaws so no one would arrest Tony’s team, so they just wake up and fight another day. I think we can all assume Cap does not intend to overthrow the government. So I guess for Cap to win he just keeps fighting and does his usual inspiring the masses bit until people write their congressman and the law is changed.

Wow letters to Congress; clearly this deserves the Watcher’s attention. But hey let’s take it to the extreme and pretend Cap and Iron Man’s teams are fighting to the death. I’d still ask why the Watcher cares. The only lives of cosmic significance involved in this thing are Reed (who is respected by Galactus and most interstellar empires) and Cap (who tends to lead the resistance whenever Thanos, Nebula, Korvac, Magus, Kang, etc decide it’s time to conquor/destroy the universe). But then these guys risk their lives everyday and yet we don’t see the Watcher hanging around when Red Skull attacks Cap; who would be a lot more likely to kill him than say Ms. Marvel and Wonderman.

Bill Foster being killed is a major point in this war. It shows that this war is going far and that things will never be the same. That there could even be more death that follows. Watcher is watching everything because that’s how big this event is meant to be.

I have to agree with Bill on this one. Hell at this point I don’t even know who Bill Foster is”¦

Heck if anything the Watcher should be hanging around Annihilation where actual important events (and good writing) are occurring. The capture of Galactus whose life is tied to the existence of the universe would seem to trump the deaths of Bill Foster and Bantam. So would the deaths of the entire Andromeda Galaxy including the Skrull and Xandarian empires. Or for that matter the death of Quazar – – protector of the universe as designated by Eon and Infinity; and who once saved the entire race of Watchers from extinction. And that’s barely half of what’s going on in that story.

Who said the Watcher isn’t watching and just not seen. We have more then one Watcher after all. We all know the Watchers can only watch. Non interference.

FOUL! Have to go with Bill again here. You can’t say “the Watcher is probably there you just can’t see him.” Either the writers put them there or they don’t. And from what I can tell, Annihilation is definitely the more deserving story for his attention.

But back to Civil War #4. Here’s an easy nitpick. Why is Bill Foster being buried at giant size? Umm Henry Pym used to keep cars and flying robots in his pockets during West Coast Avengers and Reed has a shrinking device that can make people subatomic in size to enter the microverse; but they can’t figure out how to shrink him?

I think that is the bigger error. Hank should’ve been able to shrink him.

Because burying a giant person looks cooler?

Or why can a homicidal clone of Thor lift the hammer? When just two years ago Marvel published a story where Thor conquered the earth and ruled for a generation and as a result the true Thor himself was unworthy/unable to lift the hammer.

The clone isn’t worthy. That’s a fake hammer in Civil War 4. D.B. took the real thing and flew off in a big bolt of lightning.

Then you get the last page of Civil War 4 where Marvel’s most homicidal villains are recruited to capture Cap’s team. Again all shock value no logic. Why would anyone recruit Bullseye for a capture mission when his sole power is turn objects into deadly weapons? If Tony needed to recruit villains why not use characters like Absorbing Man, Armadillo and Rhino– who are both more powerful than anyone Tony recruited and have shown the ability to perform good deeds in the past. Heck why not use the villains from the Brotherhood who worked for the government in the past as Freedom Force and successfully captured both Magneto and the Avengers with no fatalities? And even if we buy Tony thinks this a good idea, why in the world should we believe Reed would allow these psychos to go after the resistance now that his wife and brother-in-law are there.

They are the new Thunderbolts and it’s not like Iron Man didn’t have the Thunderbolts working with him already. These new ones likely have chips in them to control them like Norman.

Again, you can’t assume anything. This is what some might call”¦a glaring plothole.

If they absolutely wanted to get the most psychotic villians into this story. Instead of having Tony be the biggest moron in the world for hiring them (and presumably so he can feel guilty when they go out of control and kill say Mary Jane or something). Why not have some villian access the database of registered heroes and hire the psychos to go after the hero’s loved ones making Tony indirectly responsible? There’s numerous ways to get a villain to access the database. Pick any terrorist group Cap fights. They could bribe a government official. I mean we’ve seen AIM bribe congressman, Red Skull control the Commision on Superhuman Activities and the Secret Empire sneek in a double agent into the White House just in his book alone. Or you could just have Puppet Master/Mentallo/Shadow King etc possess some government official to get the database. Or pick a resident genius like Mad Thinker or Fixer and have them hack into the system. Or a shapeshifter like Mystique, Copy Cat, the blackmarket skrulls in Heroes For Hire could get it. Or best of all you could have an Iron Man villian like Spymaster or Ghost steal it for extra irony.

In fact with all the foreshadowing in Spidey’s book in the months prior to the mini-series and the way Tony’s been written in the main book I honestly figured marvel’s goal was to turn him into the Marvel Universe’s new top villain and he was supposed to be doing this in some sort of secret world domination plot. That at least would make this the ground-breaking earth shaking story they are promoting this to be. Yet with Tony slated to lead a Mighty Avengers team book when this is over; then it would seem that’s not where they are going. In which case all I can say is so what is the point of all this and why are we supposed to believe that this story is so important?

I don’t think Tony will be a villain when Civil War is over. Recall that Iron Man has redeemed his reputation many times over. He’s doing what he thinks he has to. Who said he’s a villain for fighting for what he thinks is right?

Hahaha, I love it when Jim completely misses the point of a question/statement. Nothing gives me more pleasure. I’d love it if they’d give Tony the Hal Jordan treatment, of course they’d give him the whole treatment and turn him right back into a “hero” again a little while later. All in all, I’m guessing there’s really not going to be anything really groundbreaking to come out of Civil War. It’s not like we haven’t seen heroes beating the crap out of each other before”¦

The funny thing is even if Tony is not going full on villain they could still write a really good story with the premise if they just thought it through a little more. Instead of Cap’s team talking about vague undefined civil rights violations; why not bring up that Tony is immune to this law he’s writing. Tony has no superpowers just technology he invented. Concievably he could mass market the suit and sell it for either self protection or an alternative to airline travel and everyone in America could be Iron Man. In fact we’ve seen Tony build suits for other ppl including Jim Rhodes, Cap, and Spidey as well as mass producing it for the government with all of the Guardsmen who work at Vault and Project Pegasus. The fact is Tony can stop being Iron Man whenever he wants to; yet genetically this is not true for most of the heroes like Cap, Spidey, the FF, the X-men, etc. That would interesting dynamic to play up.

And that dynamic could easily be taken further. Since for that matter Pym technically has no superpowers. He discovered a natural resource and published the results in scientific journals getting them called Pym Particles. It’s why there have been several replacement Ant Mans, Goliaths, Giant Mans and Yellowjackets over the years. So theoretically any college professor or company could use pym particles. Heck it’s arguable why this law effects Cap. Yes he has the super soldier serum but it only gives him peak human performance; while the law is called “the super-human registration act”. Certainly it shouldn’t affect Falcon who is front and center in this thing (again the flying is all in the suit). In fact there are several non-powered heroes in the traditional Avengers and Spiderman universes that should be immune from registering.

I think now that we have a second email in this vain I would really like to hear some other opinions on Civil War and some of the anti-Civil War sentiment we‘ve seen.

Hahahaha. That’s Jim speak for, “I’m tired of listening to you rip in my Marvel damnit!” But worry not, Bill, I like your thoughts, and am curious why I haven’t heard more about these fairly obvious plot holes.

The ultimate me wrote

Q: What was the Age of Apoc? Was it like HoM? That’s where the hot purple chick from exiles is from right? Was that Apoc’s first arc or was there one before it where Angel became his horsman(was it in the AoA or before it?) Im fuzzy on my x-history but this confuses me most of all.

Age of Apocalypse was a big story in the 90s in X-Men. Legion goes back in time planning on killing Magneto. He kills Charles Xavier instead. Which creates an alternate reality where Magneto forms the X-Men. Apocalypse also takes over the US and most of the World. The X-Men with Bishop (who got stuck in the past and lived into AOA) work to gain the M’Kraan crystal, free Illyana and find Destiny to set the Universe right again.

After they do 4 come into main 616: X-Man, Dark Beast, Holocaust, and Sugar Man.

Blink from Exiles is from AOA and so is Sabretooth

Also do the X-men remember it?

Only Bishop remembered it. Blink recalls it and so does Sabretooth in Exiles as well. Also the 4 from that world recall it.

The ones that are still alive anyway.

Jon emails

Hey guys, hows things?

Hey Jon

I have some questions for you if you dont mind. I used to be a big reader of X men, Spider man, and a few other assorted titles in the 90s, then had a 4 year break before I got back into reading. I was wondering if you could clear some history up for me of things that Ive missed.

Sure thing Jon. Hope we can help.

First off… at what point did Mac Gargan get the Symbiote to become venom? And what happened to Eddie Brock? When Gargan bonded with the symbiote did he learn all of Peter Parker’s secrets etc? Not that it matters after civil war 2. Also what happened to Carnage and the other Venom spawn?

: Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #9: First Scorpion/Venom. Eddie attempted and failed suicide. Yep Gargan found out who Spidey was. Carnage was taken to space and ripped in half by Sentry. The others haven’t seen for quite some time but Toxin in his limited

Judas Traveler: He was mostly a ruse created by Osborn.

Scrier: They disappeared for now

Spidercide: Dead like Ben

Helix: Two. 1 symbiote and one not

If you didn’t catch the date in all of that, the characters first appeared way back in 1972. They definitely didn’t just pop up”¦they’re been around longer than me.

Finally.. when i stopped reading X men was just after the initial Bastion saga. At what point did the X men go from being outlaws to having Xse badges and a giant school with a ton of students run by Cyclops? And what happened to the cerebro founded X men led by Grey king etc?

They changed it around Grant Morrison run. The school was open to more students and the X-Men became teachers. The XSE stuff started around X-Treme X-Men series. The Cerebro X-Men turned out to be mostly constructs created by the former Cerebro

Sorry for the big questions but I appreciate the help in bringing me up to speed.

It‘s all good. I would‘ve given better answers with more time. But the late email got me working a little fast.

Cory emails

Cory’s here. Hope all is well with you guys, so shall I proceed?!

Hey Cory. Good hear

1- Speaking of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (which I love, but currently stuck in Mephisto’s realm now), is Dr. Doom actually capable of leading such a vast army of super-villains?

Sure he can. He‘s lead a few armies in the past. A for instance was during Secret Wars I.

2- Just wondering, has the Grey Gargoyle ever fought Thor?

Yep, quite a few times.

3- If you could play EIC at Marvel, what would you change about certain Marvel characters? ( I say Wolvie’s hgt…just a tad).

Hmmmmmm I really don’t think I’d change too much. Let them smoke again. Maybe put Wolverine into a max book. Spider-Man stays married. Hmm can I come back with more on this one next week. I’m getting ideas as I type and I’d be afraid to miss something

Holy Crap on a hockey stick! I don’t think I’m even going to try and answer this one. We actually do have a character limit here. Suffice it to say, the Marvel U would look quite different if I had my say, and it would all start with a massive Crisis. I can tell you this though, there would definitely be a LOT less X-Men on the various teams (and that wasn’t really a reference to Gambit – who’d probably keep just so I could kill him off later).

4- In a recent interview with Hugh Jackman that I read he said that “if all goes to plan, fans can look forward to seeing Wolvie in his first solo, big screen adventure in late spring of 2008. Also, if when Wolverine hits the screen next, that could put X-Men 4 or the conceptualized Magneto movie on deck. So how bout that for continuing the franchise, even though Jackman & Berry may cost more to come back?

I look forward to the Wolverine movie. (even with the Juggernaut which makes no sense) I would love an X-4. I really would. I mean you just run it with a cast of X-Men: Wolvie, Storm, Beast, Nightcrawler, Iceman, Kitty, Colossus and Angel. Intro Sinister and HFC and Gambit.

You want to know why I fear an X4? Well, let’s look back at some franchises that went 4 movies long. Hmmm let’s see there were the original Superman and Batman movies. In both cases the first two movies of each were pretty good (granted Batman Returns was a bit odd, but not terrible), then there was the third movie of each which was just not very good, and then there was the fourth”¦utter pieces of crap. Now let’s look at the X’s. First movie = damn good. Second X = even freaking better. Third X = what the hell happened (we should have waited for Bryan Singer so this movie didn’t suck like Gambit’s half-ass accent). I can’t even imagine X4: X-Men & Wolverine’s Quest For Peace.

5- Is Deadpool’s immortality a way for his character to get a “1 up” on Wolverine? Like the old age to immortality ratio. Also by comparing Deadpool to Lobo could work. Lobo regenerating out of a pool of blood in 52 #20 himself having supposedly died many times. It is a given a possiblility he has always had this power after his first death and his ability after that point to be reborn numerous times. Deadpool’s inability to die…However, Deadpool himself needed to seek outside assistance about the right method to kill himself, so his immortality may still be extant.

I would think Deadpool’s healing factor/immortality is the way they had him one up Wolverine the best he could. They always said his healing was better.

6- Now I believe that the Avengers have mini or multiple quinjets, do the X-Men? Since Wolvie has no advanced speed or teleportation device, how he got from San Fran to Westchester, NY in X-3 is beyond me.

I believe there’s more then 1 Blackbird in the hanger. Likely 2-3 now with 3 teams in fact it would seem likely

Ha, that’s one of my favorite plot holes in X3. This isn’t even one you can “rationalize” since Logan is shown driving his motorcycle back and forth. That’s right, from New York to San Fran in what a couple hours? You can’t even do that in a jet.

Plus Jim, we’re talking about the movie, not the comic. There is only one team.

7- Weirdest haircut in Marvel: J. Jonah or Wolverine. But is Wolvie’s hair like that due to his mask or mutation?

Most unnecessarily killed character? Mags, Apocalypse, or Jean.

Mutation on Wolverine’s hair.

I would consider Mags unnecessarily killed numerous times. I mean all 3 you mention just keep dying and coming back

8- I believe that She-Hulk will finally be the one to find out bout the Hulk in space. She is his cousin, and torn between CW sides. She could use her human side for legal action, & her hero side to go find him, possibly?

I think that is quite possible. She could have someone help her go off planet or something to get Hulk. We know Mastermind Excello knows now.

9- A.P.B…where’s Moses Magnum been?

Last time I saw him he fought the Avengers way back in Avengers V3: 9. I can recommend reading: http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/magnummoses.htm

10- TOP 10: (wanted) Marvel movies:

1-Deadpool 2- Cap 3- Luke Cage 4-Thor 5- Dr. Strange 6- The Avengers 7-Moon Knight* 8- Silver Surfer 9- She-Hulk 10- Cloak & Dagger. Others: Venom, Iron Fist, & Nick Fury.

Nice list. Most should be out too.

11- Speaking of Moon Knight, I hear that Marvel is planning to get a MK TV series greenlit (since Blade’s cancelled), what you fellas think?

I really think Moon Knight the show would be good. I don’t think Blade should’ve been canceled either. I quite enjoyed the series. I really hope Moon Knight does better.

Well I can’t say I’m surprised that the Blade show was cancelled. For one, just based on the previews and snippets I saw”¦it looked like crap. Whether the stories or good or not, the production value looked very shoddy. And secondly, the show came out on the heels of the worst movie in the characte’s trilogy. And here again we see the third movie in a comic series of movies take a dive. It really has to make you wonder about Spidey 3. I think if it’s good it’s got to be setting a record”¦first comic movie to reach 2 sequels and still be worth watching. Or something like that.

MY DEBATE:
in order: (I can list more then 1 with some though). Daron’s is in bold.

Superman = Hyperion, Sentry
Batman = Nighthawk, Moon Knight, Cap
Wonder Woman = Power Princess
Flash = Quicksilver, Whizzer
Green Lantern = Nova, Doctor Spectrum, Silver Surfer, Quasar
Green Arrow = Hawkeye, Golden Archer
Martian Manhunter = Skrullian Skymaster
Black Canary = Lady Lark, Black Widow
Catwoman = Elektra
Lobo = Wolverine, Deadpool, Morg
Aqua man =Namor
Robin =Nomad
Nightwing =Winter Soldier, DareDevil
Captain Marvel = Marvel version
Deadshot = Bullseye
Catman = Shroud
Super girl =She-Hulk
Red Tornado = Vision
Atom = Ant-man, Tom Thumb
Plastic Man = Shape
Hawkman =Blue Eagle
Firestorm =Nuke, Firestar?
Steel =Iron Man
Zatanna =Arcanna
Wildcat =Captain America
Dr. Fate = Dr Strange
Huntress = Black Cat
Booster Gold = Bishop/Cable
Mr. Terrific =Night Thrasher
Blue Beetle = Darkhawk
Black Arrow = Black Archer…I MEANT BLACK LIGHTNING!
Superboy = Scarlet Spider (clone thing)
Hawkgirl = Angel Salvatore. (ok this is stretching. I don’t know DC enough lol)

ohhhhh Black Lightning: Living Lightning

Ummm, did I miss something? What are we debating? I don’t even know what this list means? Are we comparing them to one another, saying who came first, something else? Please explain.

12- I did this list to compare & question, would DCU characters be able to last not only in the MU, but in their counterparts world as well? Allies, villains, locations, etc.
(Ex. Cap in Gotham City, Batman vs. The Red Skull) or (Daredevil in Bludhaven, Nightwing vs. The Kingpin)

Well I think it might be easier for some DC to cross then Marvel. I mean DC universe seems a lot more powerful. You know I get that feeling they over power their characters to the extremes. I just am not sure many Marvel characters could survive there.

Oh. Now why didn’t you say that BEFORE the list? Without going through the list, I can say with just about 100% certainty that yes DC’s “alternates” would do fine in the Marvel U. As Jim pointed out, for the most part DC’s characters are in general much more powerful than Marvel’s. As well, as Jim said again, Marvel’s characters would probably have a much harder time filling in over in DC land for the same reason.

I believe there is a reason for this, though it may have not been intentional to begin with. Marvel’s characte’s and stories are much more “everyman” in nature. The idea is that you can almost believe these characters are real since they are so human like. Whereas in DC world you get the feeling that you’re dealing with gods. Our role as readers is more of a person living in this world looking up in wonder at this godlike beings who control our very fates.

Or something like that”¦

13- Also do you guys think that there are any differences (philoshies, traits, methods) between Marvel & DC villains?

Not too much. I mean villains are mostly villains they normally come up with various plans that seem like any other villain. But of course they have different methods of fighting their foes

I really don’t know how to answer that question. I’d say every villain on both sides has different philosophies, and what not. That’s what makes them different characters. If they were all the same, I don’t think we’d give to Gambits about them.

14- Personally, which DCU characters do you think could fit nicely in the MU, & vice versa?

DC to Marvel:

Batman
Nightwing
Batgirl
Joker maybe

Mostly street level characters from DC

Marvel to DC:

Sentry
Thor
Silver Surfer

Mostly the cosmic like. They won’t be as over powered.

I think Nightwing would do great in Marvel land. He, DD and Spidey would make an awesome trio. He’s got all the skill of Batman, without the complete bleak attitude. He’s much more likeable, and “everyman” in his personality. And he doesn’t have the stigma of being basically invincible as Batman is. Similarly, I don’t think Bats would be a good fit for Marvel for these same reasons. Sure he’s a normal guy, but he’s a normal guy who has taken down Superman more than once. That doesn’t bode well for ANYONE in Marvel land.

I also think Flash (Wally West) would be a good fit as well. Sure he’s pretty damn powerful (or at least he was), but that could be dealt with during the transfer of “dimensions,” but he’s a very well rounded character that I think a lot of Marvel fans would really enjoy if they got to know him.

There are a bunch more that would fit well from DC, but these I think are two of the bigger names that would work.

Going the other way, I think Spidey and Cap could do pretty well over in DC land for various reasons. And amongst others, Bullseye would be a great villain for Bats. There are actually quite a few characters that would do all right over there, but there aren’t many that are going to be able to compete with DC’s normal power levels.

There you have it for this installment. Thanks guys. Til next week….Cory, out! See ya in 7!

See you next week Cory.

Later, yo.

My top 5 must read Marvel comics this week:
