Richly Deserved: The Amazing Race Episode 10-8

Shows

It was a tearful goodbye to Mauritius (at least for me, as I mentioned last week, my dad’s side of the family is from there), and hello Antananarivo (say that five times fast), Madagascar.

It was a night of matresses, stamps, and a new twist, the intersection.
Our six teams move right along as usual.

DUSTIN AND KANDACE
These girls are good. Still annoying, but good. They were forced to wait at the intersection (where one team must join forces with another team and complete tasks together until further notice, which in this instance was one task) because the six-pack thought the black angel couldn’t possibly be white. Still, they wisely began working with the Chos and took advantage of two teams going through a tough fast forward and two teams working together known as Alabama and Kentucky to win their second straight leg. Just wish they’d stop their demeaning remarks about the other teams.

TYLER AND JAMES
Tyler was concerned that James was being too passive. After that confessional, we expected a big-time effort out of James and that’s exactly what we got. The fast foward required the boys plus Rob and Kimberley to eat a plate of cow lips, untrimmed and some with hair on them. James wolfed it down like a plate of spaghetti while the others took much more time. Overall, a good leg for the boys.

ROB AND KIMBERLY
Kimberly on the other hand, did what most of us would do trying to finish a plate of cow lips. She threw up, over, and over, and over again. She eventually finished but not in enough time to arrive at the pit stop no better than third.

EDWIN AND GODWIN
Were finally forced to fend for themselves when paired with Dustin and Kandace for the mattress detour (transporting of foam matresses from a market to a specific location). They kept to their tasks and only a couple of unfortunate incidents where their cab had to stop for gas (In New York, you’d lose your licence over that), they’d be in first.

LYN AND KARLYN
Last to arrive but the “marked for elimination” twist came into effect. Alabama can’t possibly last much longer in this but are becoming a lot more likeable.

DAVID AND MARY
The race simply caught up with them. A good job at the stamp road block (Had to find four specific rubber stamps among stamp vendors in a market), but too little, too late. Loved how Mary continued to have fun with the local kids as they were doing the mattress task. Gonna miss them.

Next week, they apparently get video messages from home. I guess we should be seeing that on Survivor soon too.
