That didn’t take long. Fox has pulled its much-hyped game show The Rich List. The show managed to lose nearly two ratings points and three share points from it’s lead-in, Bones. Even worse, it’s ratings in the Adults 18-49 demographic was a paltry 1.5/4 – by comparison, Dateline (on at 10pm Wednesday) gets a 2.7/8 in the same category.
If you were wondering how The Rich List worked… well, I’m still confused myself. Basically two teams of two bid on how many items on a list they can name without getting one wrong. And somehow they win money. I suppose that this should serve as fair warning to ABC, who have been pushing Show Me the Money with much fanfare (Bill Shatner! Go-go Dancers! A Catchphrase More Dated than “Whazzuuuuuuup”!) as “the next big game show”.
In place of The Rich List, Fox has scheduled a new episode of The O.C., which is probably a good idea since that show nearly premiered in dead last as well.
