Notes on Tonight’s TNA Tapings, Last Week’s Ratings

News, Ratings

Tonight’s TNA tapings will cover this Thursday’s show plus the two-hour November 16 prime-time debut special. In hour one, the tourney for a title shot will conclude, with A.J. Styles vs. Robert Roode vs. Ron Killings in a three-way match and the winner facing Abyss for the right to fight Sting at Genesis. The winner of that match will ALSO face Kurt Angle in his TNA in-ring debut on November 16, which to me makes no sense since both wrestlers would theoretically need to be kept strong going into the PPV (thus making all ‘smart’ fans assume a screwy finish to the 11/16 match). The November 16 show is being promoted as a PPV-quality show (three days before an actual PPV), and will be headlined by Christian Cage vs. Rhino in a barbed wire cage match, with an X Division title match, The Naturals vs. Team 3-D in a tables match and a Samoa Joe match also scheduled.

In other news, last week’s iMPACT! scored an 0.8 cable rating, out of a 1.0 for The Ultimate Fighter, according to Nielsen Media.
