Ashley & Playboy, CM Punk & World Title, Rey’s Surgery & More

News

WWE.com teases horny men and lesbians everywhere with this clip of December Playboy covergirl Cindy Margolis telling Ashley Massaro she should pose for the men’s magazine and this interview with Candice, giving Ashley Playboy advice. Of course, good money’s on this eventually happening, since WWE.com and Ashley (on her MySpace blog) are both polling fans whether or not she should do it. Posing nude isn’t new to the Diva Search winner, who did a Playboy shoot under the name Ryan MacKenzie (not work safe) in the past.

Speaking of blogs, CM Punk’s latest entry on ECW.com talks about his ECW Championship shot:

After only a few short months into my stay at ECW, I have already attained a shot at the ECW World Title. I have gained entry into the Extreme Elimination Chamber by defeating Mike Knox. So now that Mike Knox is behind me, I’m going to become more focused than ever.

I don’t exactly know what is so extreme about the Elimination Chamber that it’s going to be in ECW, but I already know that it is one of the most barbaric matches I’ve ever seen in my entire life… and now I know I’m going to be a part of it. Honestly, what I can hope for is that I’m the first one in there because I can guarantee I’ll be the last one out. Not only will I be the youngest ECW World Champion at the end of the night, but I will still be undefeated.

I just want to thank a lot of the fans for all the support they’ve given me so far. Keep up the support and I’ll keep producing. And who knows? On Dec. 4, you might be looking at a brand new ECW World Champion.

On his non-WWE site, Jim Ross has added a few new blog posts, including one on the late Sputnick Monroe as well as a new mailbag. Some highlights from the mailbag:

I don’t see any changes to the three brands currently being utilized. I never say never but I don’t see the brand extension going away any time soon.

The lack of quality depth is a direct reflection on how wrestlers are being trained and how much experience they have prior to being exposed on TV. When the regional territories died the business suffered a huge hit that is now being exploited. Anyone who says there are an over abundance of available, great wrestling talent out there needs a drug test.

My friend Stone Cold loves the squared circle but his wrestling days are essentially over. “Maybe” there is one last match but I wouldn’t bet the farm on it. Making movies is his thing now but I will ask him when I see him next week.

I think there is an over saturation of wrestling product on TV now, I might be wrong, and for WCW to return would be a stretch to say the very least.

Again, yes the Undertaker will be a champion again before his career is over. Bank on it. I am not working without a contract. Don’t believe all you read on the internet. (Except here of course, LOL)

Dr. Death has been cancer free for two years now! It was a miracle. Let’s hope and pray Doc stays cancer free. I know that there is a Dr. Death book in the works which I am anxious to read. Doc works a part time schedule helping train WWE developmental wrestlers.

I would love to see a Rock-HBK match but that is simply wishful thinking.

In other online news, WWE.com followed around Jeff Hardy before Cyber Sunday, has added a section of Smackdown Your Vote podcasts with Political Correspondent Chris Nowinski, declared Rey Mysterio’s surgery a success (he’ll be back in four to six months) and posted several photos from their current European tour.

Matthew Michaels is editor emeritus of Pulse Wrestling, and has been since the site launched.
