~ There seems to be a sequel in the works for 2005’s Wolf Creek from the writer and director of the first, Greg McLean. Wolf Creek tells the story of a group of backpackers in the Australian outback who get tied up with a creepy outlander who has crossed dangerous paths with others like them before.

McLean was approached to do a sequel right after the release of the first film, but decided against it. He said how it takes an ingenious plot for a movie to be successful in immediate sequels, such as Saw has done.

~ In perhaps the best bit of news I’ve heard in quite some time, it seems that Halloween will be arriving early for us next year. Rob Zombie’s reimagining of John Carpente’s horror genius is now due to come out on August 31, 2007 instead of the original date of October 19.

The script is said to be complete and casting is going to be underway shortly. Sheri Moon Zombie, Rob’s wife, is already cast but the rest of the victims and the Shape himself will shortly be known.

~ More Bruce Campbell is what you want? Then more Bruce Campbell is what you’re going to get, and not just Spider-Man fans either. Campbell recently cancelled a scheduled appearance at the Fangoria Weekend Of Horrors in California because it will interfere with the shooting of the prequel to 2002’s Bubba Ho-tep.

Bubba Nosferatu And The Curse Of The She-Vampires finds Elvis shooting a film down in Louisiana only to run into a coven of she vampires.

The first film centered around Elvis Presley and John F. Kennedy alive and well in a nursing home trying to save their fellow resident’s souls from an ancient Egyptian mummy.

Bubba Nosferatu is scheduled for release sometime in 2008.

~ And since the theme here seems to be sequels, prequels, and remakes”¦it’s only fair to show you the poster now out for the prequel to the wonderful Silence Of The Lambs.

Hannibal Rising tells the story of Hannibal and Mischa Lecter after their parents are killed during World War II. The reasoning behind the immaculate insanity is finally revealed. Starring Li Gong, Gaspard Ulliel, and the masterful voice of Anthony Hopkins is tentatively scheduled for theatres on February 9, 2007.
