Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born– It’s funny. This went from being written by Stephen King to being written by Peter David and oversaw by Stephen King (or whatever) to being written by Peter David AND Robin Furth and oversaw by Stephen King. Furth, by the by, is King’s “personal research assistant”.
I’m usually not one to care about comic companies pulling the bait and switch on me if I haven’t bought the book yet, but this one annoyed me. My dad and I are both huge Gunslinger fans and I was looking forward to buying this, when the inevitable hardcover comes out, for him for Christmas or his birthday. Now”¦I just don’t think so. I’m not sure, “Here you go, Dad, Stephen King was a consultant on this. No, I’m not sure what that means, beyond him licensing out his characters to Marvel” has quite the same ring as “Look, Dad, it is an extension of the Dark Tower series written by Stephen King.” But that’s just me.
Ultimate Spider-Man #105– Dammmmmmmmn, Ultimate Spidey, you one stone cold playa. Go ahead with your bad self.
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #17– Alternate Uncle Ben is still around? But”¦why? Man, these Spidey books just make me so tired sometimes.
Sensational Spider-Man #35–
There’s something about this cover”¦I’m not sure what. I look at it and I like it. Then, I look at it more and I’m underwhelmed. Then, even more, and I’m back to liking it. I’m so confused.
Spider-Man Family #1– This marks two books featuring Sandman this month. The last time that happened was”¦never?
Spider-Man and Power Pack #4–
Venom with pigtails=brilliant!
Civil War: The Initiative– I’m guessing this concerns the 50 State thing in Civil Way and I’m interested in how that will work in practice rather than just a buzzword tossed about the pro-Registration crowd. On the other hand, I’m pretty sure I hate Silvestri’s art. So, I’m in a predicament.
Ghost Rider #8– Oh please tell me that Bill Foster is not coming back as a satanically possessed villain. Oh please tell me that Bill Foster is not coming back as a satanically possessed villain. Avengers: Eart’s Mightiest Heroes II #7– I have approximately zero interest in this book, but I have to say the phrase “Wakandan Death Tiger” makes me wonder if I made the right decision.
Even if Mr. Death Tiger (he’s sort of a formal guy) does look a whole lot like the White Tiger.
Daredevil #94– Every comic related website on earth likes this cover. And since, above all things, I hate to be unique,
I love it too.
Ghost Rider: Trail of Tears #1– Last moth there were two Ghost Rider books, this month there are two (and since it is a six issue mini, that means there’ll probably be two for 5 more months after this too). When did someone tell the 90’s it was okay to come back?
And how come they couldn’t have let Darkhawk know?
Marvel Legacy: The 1990’s Handbook– OMG, see?!
And I ask again, where is DARKHAWK?!
Moon Knight #8– I know it is just pinup cover
But I really like it.
New Avengers #27–
Is it possible that Ronin’s armor has gotten even bulkier since the last time we saw her? And what do I have to do to just get Echo back?
Punisher War Journal #4– I’ve tried to read Punisher for time to time and generally come away with the feeling that I shouldn’t read Punisher. However, this book sounds so up my alley, I can’t afford not to buy it, Punisher or not.
Love the use of the Daredevil cover in the background like it is Stilt Man’s portrait.
Thunderbolts #111–

Wonder Man #3– Generally speaking isn’t rehabilitating someone who, by choice, calls themselves “____killer” a bit of a fool’s errand?

Powers #25– The last time Bendis did a cover for a Powers book, I didn’t buy that cover. I still feel kind of bad about that. I expect I’ll rectify it this time.
Daredevil Omnibus– How do I not buy this? And yet, with a ticket price of 100 dollars for something I own entirely in trade and large portions of in single issues, how do I justify it?

Beyond HC– I’m really loving this mini, but I cannot believe they are offering it in hardcover. That just seems ludicrous to me.
