With the release of that fan made trailer I posted the other day, more info has now come out about the re-imagining of Halloween and it’s a doozy. Both the casting list and plot outline for the film, coming out in time for Halloween ’07, have now been released.
The story is said to not necessarily follow any of the past eight movies and reinvent the story again. (And not the Halloween III: The Season of the Witch-type of reinvention.) It is said to not be a remake, but Rob Zombie’s own vision of John Carpente’s film.
The plot is said to be this:
After being committed for 17 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, is mistakenly released from the mental institution – where he was committed as a 10-year-old – and he immediately returns to Haddonfield, where he wants to find his baby sister, Laurie. Anyone who crosses his path is in mortal danger.
The casting breakdown actually has many spoilers in it, so I am going to simply link you to it in case you don’t like surprises. I warn you that if you continue to read on and check it out, you will encounter some major spoilers including who could possibly be killed off in the film.
