Episode 10-11, “We Just Won’t Die, Like Cockroaches”

Travel
Teams traveled from to Kiev, Ukraine to Ouarzazate, Morocco. After some Drama! where Dustin and Kandice had a tight connection (which they missed) to Casablanca, Morocco booked through Milan, Italy while other teams ended up with a more leisurely connection through Paris, France. Presumably there was no need to transfer between Paris airports as was the case in a previous season. And perhaps unluckily for the teams, noone was left behind, meaning the race was still tight.

Yield
Alabama got screwed here. They arrived at the movie studios first but ended up getting to the Yield last due to operating times and their lack of foot speed. However, had they gotten there first, I would’ve questioned their decision to Yield Dustin and Kandice. Clearly, this was out of a hatred for the Blondes which hasn’t been explained, ever.

After the studios opened, The Models and Rob/Kim both decided not to use the Yield, which all but forced Dustin and Kandice to Yield Lyn and Karlyn, as they should. And typical of just about everyone that has been Yielded, Alabama complained how it wasn’t fair that they were Yielded, and how the Blondes were evil for doing so, despite the fact that THEY WERE GOING TO DO THE EXACT SAME THING TO THE BLONDES. I’ve really tried to like Lyn and Karlyn, but they haven’t given me the chance to at all.

Roadblock – Chariots
Only James had a problem with this Roadblock, missing a flag on his first try and forcing him to run the course one more time.

Detour – Throw It or Grind It
Probably the last word on this came from Dustin, who noted that she was an art major and making pottery was a lot harder than it sounded. But with only three Detour stations open at Grind It, they didn’t even try to head to the Throw It Detour, which either speaks volumes about the difficulty of making pottery or showed that they had determined that this leg was Non-Elimination.

Miscellaneous
– So in this episode it’s revealed that Lyn and Karlyn are very good with directions and maps. Which leads me to ask – why the hell were they following the Cho brothers then? Maybe if THEY led and the Chos followed, BOTH teams would still be around.

– So noone trusts the Blondes. No big deal there. Noone trusted Rob and Amber either, and but for getting screwed over on the last leg, they would’ve won the whole darn Race in Season 7. But they’re Marked for Elimination, and we’ll see if that comes into play in the all-important final Elimination Leg.

That’s all for this week.
