~ There were rumors circulating around that Erick Avari (Heroes, Mr. Deeds) would be playing the part of Dr. Loomis in Rob Zombie’s Halloween due out late next year. Sources and Zombie himself say that the part is not Avari’s as no-one has yet been cast in that role.
The late great Donald Pleasance played Dr. Loomis in five of the first six Halloween films.
~ Edward Neumeir is set to have his first directing gig when he takes the helm of Starship Troopers 3. The second sequel has Casper Van Diem possibly returning as Johnny Rico who is now a general in the interplanetary war against gigantic bugs. Everything is set to get this project rolling by March of next year in South Africa.
~ With the success of the Saw franchise over the past three years, the talk of Saw IV continues to heat up as not only is a tentative release date of October 26, 2007 scheduled”¦BUT, there may even be a director for the film now.
David Moreau (The Eye, Ils) has supposedly been spending a lot of time over at Lionsgate Studios in talks to helm whatever sinister things Jigsaw has in store next.
