TV Babies: Gilmore Girls, Episode 7-9

Shows

Last night’s Knit, People, Knit! had three storylines going: Lorelai attempting to get Stars Hollow to accept new hubby Christopher, Luke facing a new challenge regarding April, and Rory trying to make nice with Marty.

So Lorelai is finally forced to introduce Christopher to her colorful Stars Hollow friends At Friday Night Dinner (making its triumphant return), Emily wants to throw the newly married couple a party. Of course, Lorelai is the only one who doesn’t want a party. And when her mother requests a guest list, she gives her only Sookie, Jackson and Michel. The following day, Lorelai’s going into town to run some errands, and Christopher invites himself along. Lorelai caves, but they get quite a lukewarm reception from Babette, Miss Patty, etc. Though Christopher the Oblivious thinks everything went swimmingly, Lorelai senses its time to step it up a notch: beers with Jackson. If Jackson approves, the rest will follow. Beers at Casey’s is a little awkward, but does lead to a genuinely nice moment in which Jackson makes it clear how important Lorelai is to he & Sookie.

Luke is having a tough day. T.J. drops by the diner for a shot of seltzer, and to inform him that Liz intends on having the baby in their home, literally. Then Luke sees Lorelai and Christopher strolling through town together. To top it off, Anna announces that she and April are moving to New Mexico to be with her mother.
Now the old Luke would have been passive about all these events swirling around his head – maybe occasionally swatting them away. But the new Luke puts his foot down. He thinks his siste’s crazy for not having the baby delivered in a hospital, but he’s gonna be there for her regardless. He finally speaks up to Anna – he has rights as far as April’s concerned.

Meanwhile, Rory’s officially moved out of Logan’s place. And she and her new bestest friends are planning a 2002 party. Rory sees this as an opportunity to finally settle things with Marty. Party day arrives, and Marty admits he’s been a jerk. Three or four Tequila Slammers later, he tells Rory she’s more beautiful then ever. Oh, poor Rory. She can’t have Marty as just a guy friend that adores her.

Knit, People, Knit! ends with The Stars Hollow Knitathon. Clueless Christopher misguidedly throws his money around again, and his generous donation brings the event to an abrupt halt. It’s gonna take some time for Stars Hollow to accept Christopher, Lorelai. It can’t be forced”¦
