Ring of Honor Videowire Recap

Ring of Honor VideoWire Recap

This will theoretically be the first of many RoH Videowire recaps. Pulse Glazer the RoH Reviewer is responsible for the recap and I, Big Andy Mac weighed in with my Big Andy-pinions. For those of you that were unaware the Videowire is the primary means that Ring of Honor keeps its fans appraised of the current storylines in RoH. Each week a different wrestler hosts, and they have ranged from the Briscoes to Colt Cabana. They usually contain highlights of shows not released on DVD, and promos that may or may not be available elsewhere. So without further ado here is the recap

This week Samoa Joe hosts the video wire. Joe has a message for Bryan Danielson, who he will face on 12/8 in Chicago. The message is that Danielson can no longer escape. He promises to win the title and then go on to New York to end the era of The Road of Homicide.

Big Andy Mac’s Big Andy-pinion — I mentioned briefly in my column the potential of Joe vs. Homicide at Final Battle”¦

We kick off with clips from 11/25’s Edison, NJ show. Clips of Jacobs and BJ Whitmer destroying each other lead into Lacey beating on BJ and berating Jimmy. Daziee Haze beats the hell out of Lacey, putting an end to that.

Big Andy Mac’s Big Andy-pinion — This is becoming one of the hottest feuds in Ring of Honor. You can smell the hatred between Whitmer and the delusional Jacobs. Their matches have been surprisingly good, the INSANE bumps aside; they have advanced the story flawlessly. Jacobs obsession with Lacey has been handled so uniquely adding the irritating EMO of Jacobs, and his Ducky-esque pursuit of Lacey who still can’t hold a candle to Molly Ringwald to the tried and true pursuit of his heart’s desire. The only problem I see is these two setting the bar too high and being unable to deliver in the final match of the feud.

Glory by Honor V Night 2 clips are shown to advertise the DVD.

Big Andy Mac’s Big Andy-pinion — This is being heralded as Ring of Honor’s best show yet. That is a lofty bit of praise, but it may be accurate. Well worth seeing.

Back to Joe. He cuts a promo on slapping KENTA and how it’s a message to all of Japan that they can no longer use USA as a playground. He say’s that if NOAH has the balls then they’ll send someone to get some from Joe. Joe gives way to “D” (Homicide).

Big Andy Mac’s Big Andy-pinion: Joe vs. KENTA one on one and Joe vs. Morishima are the most likely outcomes of the “Slap heard round the world.” Both matches will be unbelievable, and when they happen in 2007 it will rule.

Homicide says he destroyed the Briscoes and Corino. He let’s us know that he’s going to destroy Adam Pearce in their upcoming strap match, 12/9 in Chicago. He then turns to Joe, tells him he’s rooting for him to win so they can take it back to 2003, when they had their initial epic set of encounters. “Bdddat, let the violence continue, dog!”

Big Andy Mac’s Big Andy-pinion: Strap matches can be good and can be awful”¦I am hoping for good.

We’re back to Edison, and a clip of Matt Sydal’s ridiculous powerbomb reversal to a shoulder-stand DDT on Claudio Castagnoli. A ton of highspot highlights from the match shown to triumphant music. Winners and New Tag Team Champions, Matt Sydal and Christopher Daniels.

Daniels says the Lords of the Ring are the new Tag Team Champs of the World, they’ll take on all comers, and “That’s Gospel.” Aries and Strong interrupt to challenge in Chicago, which is accepted.

Big Andy Mac’s Big Andy-pinion — The tag title match looks awesome and that Shoulder Stand DDT is unreal. Daniels and Sydal make a good team and I like that Daniels has given them a name, the Lords of the Ring. Interesting things about this: One — Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway used this as a team name while they teamed in OVW, but now one is a retard and the other plays one on TV, Two — Daniels says that Lords are greater than Kings, but if you look at your European feudalism hierarchy you clearly see that Kings were at the top of the pyramid certainly above Lords. Either way the match that gets set up with LOTR facing Aries and Strong makes the Chicago double shot keep looking better and better.

Again in Edison and we get Nigel vs. Rave highlights. After the Nigel win, he throws toilet paper at Rave and they confront each other. The rematch is Dec. 8 in Chicago.

Big Andy Mac’s Big Andy-pinion — It is nice to see Jimmy Rave and Nigel McGuinness in a feud with one another. They worked well in the tag match about a month ago in Philadelphia. This will give that chance for Rave to revitalize himself after the split from Nana. Their rematch is yet another reason that I want to drive to Chi-town for the Chicago Spectacular.

To be continued”¦
