Looking Ahead – 5th December 2006

Hi all, it’s a nice, sleepy edition of Looking Ahead this week, as I did the live play-by-play Raw coverage for this here site yesterday, I’ve had 4 hours sleep, I’ve been at work all day and have just been to see Casino Royale… and now I’m pretty much shattered and craving for sleep.

December to Dismember Thoughts:

I’m with everybody else on this. It was utter shite. And I’m apparently optimistic.

The MNM-Hardy match was a REALLY good opener, and gave both teams enough time to develop the psychology of the match which made for a great start to the PPV.

I’m glad that Bobby Lashley won the World Title to be honest, as I don’t think it’s the right time for Punk (the only other guy who can come close to World Champion Material) and it’s also going to be nice to see how much Lashley has learnt from his time over on Smackdown. By nice, I mean interesting.

Apart from that, I’ve nothing much left to say really. Oh, wait a minute, I have.

I’M SO GLAD I DIDN’T HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT. THANK FUCK FOR SKY TV.

SMACKDOWN

Armageddon; Sunday December 17th

The Announced Card

Batista & John Cena vs. King Booker & Finlay

With the death of ECW on the horizon, and with the constant brand-swapping that’s been going on recently, I wouldn’t be surprised if the brand split came to an end. Nobody would notice if it did.

Anyway, my point – Why the hell is John Cena on the PPV? Sure, it’s a good way to boost sales, but really, is it worth degrading the brand split yet again?

Meh…

Last Ride Match
The Undertaker vs. Ken Kennedy

This feud has gone on long enough, and hopefully this will be the final encounter for a while, as it seems Taker might be moving onto either Batista or MVP, whereas Kennedy will be moving onto Kane.

As long as Taker sells well and takes as good as he gives, then his yearly “push the young guy” feud will be worth it, as Kennedy it seems is more over now than he was before. Plus it’s brought out a side to Kennedy that we’ve not previously seen, which adds more depth to his character and makes for a more interesting program overall.

Inferno Match
Kane vs. MVP

MVP has been a lacklustre addition to the Smackdown Roster. Hopefully Kane will dismantle him and send him packing to OVW or wherever he came from, as I’m just not feeling him.

Speculation…

London & Kendrick vs. ?

London and Kendrick are in the initial stages of a feud with each other it seems, over a girl no less. Old-school booking at it’s best, all thanks to Michael Hayes no doubt.

It’s a pity it had to happen this soon though, as I’d have given them more of a run with the tag titles before they split. But that’s me.

The Last Bit…

Man am I beat. Time to post this and head of to bed I think.

Night.

Danny Wallace.
