Remote Destination – The Wire

Shows

I feel like I’m dying a slow and painful death. My On Demand isn’t working.

I’ve been watching The Wire six days early all season long because of HBO On Demand. Y’see, HBO every episode of The Wire available On Demand the Monday before the episodes aired on their regular Sunday timeslot.

So this whole season I’ve been watching a almost a week early. And yet with the season finale airing on Sunday, I’ve still not seen it because I can’t access my On Demand. And it sucks. I mean we’re talking about the point the entire season has been building up to and it’s just beyond my reach.

Watching the penultimate episode is just torturous. Seeing the intensity get ratcheted up like a dozen notches and not being able to experience the pay off is frustrating. It reminds me of every girlfriend I didn’t have sex with in high school.

But I really can’t wait to find out what happens. I need to know what happens to Herc; does he lose his job? Is he just demoted? Is McNulty going to get back on the wire, or stay a beat cop?

I can’t wait to find out of Michael is lost to the streets for good and what’s going to happen with Duquan. Does Randy still have to fear for his life? And what’s going to happen to Namond now that his true colors have been exposed?

Speaking of the streets, how are Prop Joe and Cheese going to get back at Omar? And has Omar finally gone too far?

Back to the school, is Bunny’s class going to make the cut or be cut because of funding issues? And is Prez going to learn to keep distance between himself and his students from this point on?

I don’t know the answers to any of these questions, and they might not be answered in the season finale, but it looks like I’m not going to find out until Sunday. Boo.
