There has been off and on talk of a sequel to the 2004 hit National Treasure since the movie came out and grossed close to $350 million worldwide. The film told the story of a family who has been searching for a treasure for generations always to be led to simply another clue. When a clue leads them to take action and steal the Declaration Of Independence, things really become interesting as rivals now believe the treasure is real and want it for themselves. Word on the sequel has been quiet though for a while”¦until now.
Aintitcool.com got some updated information on the film including:
~ The working title for the film is National Treasure II: The Book Of Secrets
~ Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, and Jon Voight are all scheduled to return to reprise their roles from the first film. No word on if Justin Bartha will come back as Riley, although I certainly hope so.
~ John Turtletaub will direct this film as he did the first.
~ The film has a tentative release date of December 21, 2007.
~ And last but not least there are some spoilers documented here if you wish to find out some in depth story into the actual plot.
