The Movie

Its been six years since the first movie came out and they,ve all gotten older, but the jokes and stunts have only gotten more disgusting and more dangerous. The entire crew is back and I don’t believe it matters to them that they have all aged quite a bit.

If you’ve seen the show or the first movie, then you are full aware of what to expect in this one because it’s virtually…no, it’s exactly the same idea. For those of you who are new to Jackass and thought maybe you’d give it a shot by checking out the new DVD, then you picked one hell of a way to start. What you’re getting is a movie full of sketches and stunts. That’s it. There is no plot, no storyline, and no direction whatsoever to what you are going to see. But there is plenty feces, cursing, male nudity, and just tons and tons of pain for you to enjoy for an hour and a half.

The movie is really incredibly funny from start to finish and makes good as in it does not rehash old stunts and skits from the first film or the show. I noticed all new bits that were just so insanely hilarious such as a beard made out of body hair from many nether regions and a rousing game of medicine ball dodgeball…in the dark. One of the funniest by far is a mock terrorism attempt that backfires and ends up being not only one of the longest skits for the group ever, but also one of the best put together.

But for those that don’t find the sick or vile sense of humor to be funny, don’t fret for there is some stuff for you to view as well. We all like watching someone get hurt. It’s just human nature to see someone walking and take a face plant and then even though you’ll feel bad for them, you still end up laughing to yourself or even out loud. That is where skits like the anaconda ball pit or a see-saw game in a bull ring come into play. These guys put their bodies at serious risk, but I don’t think it’s to make their audience laugh. I really think they are doing it for their own enjoyment.

This was 90 minutes of my life where I spent half of it holding my sides from laughing so hard and the other half holding my hands up over my mouth wondering if I had just witnessed the death or paralysis of one of these entertainers. The cast of Jackass decided to get together again and put forth a sequel that wasn’t just another attempt to show their specialties, but to see just how far they could really push the limit. They were out to show to some other stunt skit shows that they are the origins of complete stupidity and they proved their case 100%.

The Video

The film is seen in Anamorphic Widescreen and you can see everything in its clear and grotesque glory.

The Audio

You will hear all the bodily functions, curse words, and some interesting music choices in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. The film sounds very good since you aren’t looking to hear many explosions or action sequences but mostly dialogue and some strange noises.

Special Features

Cast Commentary – Almost the entire cast is present for commentary and it is well worth watching the film again for it because it is hilarious. Not only do they talk about the film and rip on each other, but they point out a lot of things you may not have noticed in your first viewing.

The Making Of Jackass Number Two – Your basic “making of” segment, but if it wasn’t for the random interviews from the director and cast then it would seem pretty much like more scenes in the movie. It is very interesting though watching them get psyched up and prepared for each bit and how they feel about it.

Unrated Additional Segments – 7 skits not seen at all in the film and worth the watch, but beware of a severe amount of male nudity.

Deleted Scenes – Extended versions of a lot of scenes seen in the credits.

Additional Segments – 29 more skits that most of them are really funny, and there is just something that makes these guys not want to keep their pants on.

Outtakes – Pretty funny, but the actual skits are funnier.

Karazy Music Video

Theatrical Trailer

Unrated VMA Spots – Two segments with the cast promoting the VMAs and getting people to vote.

Photo Gallery – Still shots from scenes in the movie. There are actually some really good pictures in the gallery so is worth checking out.

Previews – Trailers for Norbit, Babel, The Last Kiss, and Nacho Libre.

The Inside Pulse

Johnny, Bam, Dunn, Steve-O and the whole crew are here to give you a fantastic DVD full of tons of extras. The film itself is only 90 minutes long, but with the amount of deleted scenes in the special features, you end up with close to a two and a half hour movie. If you have a weak stomach, then you may want to think twice about watching because over half the skits are really quite gross. But if you are looking for a full night of laughing your ass off then go and get this DVD now.
