Features, Shows

Donald John Trump, Jr. was born on December 31, 1977. He is the oldest child and son of Donald Trump, Sr. and his first wife, Ivana Trump. He attended The Hill School with former Apprentice contestant, Raj Peter Bhakta, and graduated in 1994. He then went on to attend Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate, like his father. He graduated with a double major in finance and marketing

with an emphasis in real estate. He has a younger sister, Ivanka, a younger brother, Eric, a half-sister, Tiffany, and a half-brother, Barron.

Donald Jr. currently works along with his sister, Ivanka, as a vice president in the Trump Organization. He is married to Vanessa Haydon Trump. They currently live at Trump Place and are expecting their first child in early summer 2007.

Donald Jr. began working for the Trump Organization after college in 2001. He started working at Trump Place, a 17-building high-rise development along Manhattan’s west side. While at Trump Place, he continued to gain experience in all areas of residential and commercial development including planning, design, construction, marketing, sales and leasing. He later went on to lead the development of Trump Park Avenue, an ultra-luxury residential condominium on Park Avenue at East 59th Street.

One of his current objectives is to make The Trump Organization less centered on New York City. In 2003, Donald Jr. was picked to lead the construction of Trump International Hotel & Tower, a 2.6 million square-foot Residential/Condo Hotel property along the Chicago River in downtown Chicago. The 90-story building will include 472 residential condos, 286 hotel condos, and four levels of retail space. He also is redeveloping the old Delmonico Hotel.

Donald Jr. was recently named to oversee the development of Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas, a super-luxury 64-story condominium tower, to be located on the Las Vegas strip. The development, which will feature 1,282 luxury residential and hotel-condominium units, a spa and restaurants, is scheduled for completion in early 2008.

In addition, Donald Jr. is also working on the development of Trump International Hotel & Tower Fort Lauderdale, a 301-unit condominium/hotel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The 24-story building is designed by the firm of Michael Graves & Associates in partnership with Oscar I. Garcia, Architect. It will feature a distinctive curved shape resembling a 1920’s luxury cruise liner. Completion of the project is scheduled for 2007.

In 2005, The Trump Organization announced they are investing in Palm Trump International Hotel and Tower on the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, one of the largest man-made islands in the world. Donald Jr., of course, was put in charge of this project as well.

Donald Jr. is also expected to oversee the Trump International Hotel and Tower SoHo project along with his sister, Ivanka, and Sean Yazbeck, The Apprentice 5 winner. He is going to be featured more on his father’s show in the future. Donald Jr. served as an observer in two episodes of The Apprentice 5, and is expected to be a full-time observer in season 6, that starts this Sunday, January 7, mainly replacing George Ross.

More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
