~ Primeval has a strange bit of news as the release date for theatres has actually been pushed up. And I don’t mean by just a little bit either. It is now scheduled to hit theatres on January 12 which is four months earlier then planned. Don’t know if they feel it couldn’t compete with other movies later on or what, but that is one hell of a push up.

~ In the wake of a remake of Black Christmas, Sony is putting in its two cents and is going ahead with a remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night. The original was made in 1984 and told the story of a troubled teen who’s parents were murdered and he was molested at the orphanage he got stuck in. After getting free, he went on a murder rampage dressed as Santa Claus.

~ The Hills Have Eyes II is currently scheduled to come out on March 2 but that may change. Fox Atomic has seen that weekend as being particularly busy for movie openings and may want to shift Hills II‘s release date back or up a few weeks. Stay tuned and I’ll get you exact dates as they become available.

~ And to make things even cooler leading up to Rob Zombie’s Halloween coming out later this year, he has now confirmed that he is filming a “making of” documentary as he creates the film. Sure to be a very cool extra on the DVD and maybe even a sneak peek before the film itself comes out.

The movie is really picking up speed as in the past month alone we’ve seen the casting of Daeg Faerch, Tyler Mane, and Malcolm McDowell who will be joining Sheri Moon Zombie and Heather Bowen to star. There is still the rumor of Danielle Harris also returning to reprise her role from the fourth and fifth movies, but no confirmation yet.
