Triple H Tears Quad Tendon (UPDATED)

News

Last night after New Year’s Revolution, WWE.com reported that HHH was rushed to a local medical facility in Kansas City after his match with Rated-RKO, and he was diagnosed with a possible quadriceps tear. This, of course, is the same injury he faced about 6 years ago to the other leg, from which he returned exactly 5 years ago Sunday, January 7.

UPDATE: HHH is currently visiting with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama, and according to Wade Keller at PWTorch.com, the injury is in fact a tear of his right quad.

UPDATE: WWE.com has posted the following:

Officially, The Game suffered a tear of one of the four tendons in his right quadriceps. The injury occurred during DX’s match with Rated-RKO at New Year’s Revolution. Surgery will be performed on Tuesday in Alabama, and WWE doctor Ferdinand Rios estimates that The Game will need four to six months to rehabilitate the injury.

HHH tore his left quad on May 21, 2001, and was out until January 2002, approximately seven and a half months. Usual recovery time for a quad tear can be nine months. Kevin Nash and Vince McMahon have also both torn quadricepts in the past few years, both coming back to in-ring activity, but none to the extent of HHH after his 2002 return. The four to six month rehab time quoted by WWE.com would appear to be a positive prognosis, all things considered, allowing HHH to potentially return some time between May and July.

WWE.com has posted pictures of the injury here.
