FOX can thank football of both the college and professional kind for tying CBS for the ratings win this week. While every other network almost fully return to new episodes of their shows, FOX put some sports on their network and it paid off. They should have one more big night tonight with the final bowl game. You add in the return of 24 and American Idol in a week and things are actually looking up for them. CBS was consistent with its strong full lineup of new episodes. But thanks to the late push of FOX’s NFL Playoff games, we ended in a tie this week!

Looking at the top shows this week you will see lots of football games. The surprising thing is that the Fiesta Bowl was the highest rated BCS bowl. That was the one bowl game that was thought to be a blowout. But thanks to Boise St. pulling off an exciting upset, the ratings were HUGE for that game. But NFL football is still king this week. CSI does pull have a MAJOR rating to come in second, though. And Desperate Housewives helps ABC a little bit this week a well, but only good for 4th place. NBC was osaved by their Law & Order shows to find themselves in third. A crazy week indeed and things look to get more interesting this week as almost every show returns with new episodes. Stay tuned…

Sir Linksalot: Television News

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
