WWE Fans Chant for TNA, PPV Line-Up, Ratings Update & More

News, Ratings

During last week’s New Year’s Revolution press conference in Kansas City, a group of fans loudly chanted for “TNA” to which Jonathan Coachman reacted “TNA is like Kansas City, inferior to WWE.” Coachman, who is from KC, was heeling up the crowd throughout the press conference, which aired unedited live, but was then archived on WWE.com without the “TNA” chants.

This isn’t the only time of late that saw WWE fans screaming the competition’s name for all to hear. Last night on RAW, during the “Rosie/Donald match,” fans were audibly chanting for “TNA” and possibly even “VKM.” VKM, of course, is the name of TNA tag team Voodoo Kin Mafia, made up of BG James (former WWE wrestler Road Dogg Jesse James) and Kip James (formerly Bad Ass Billy Gunn), which has been provoking Vince and DX on TNA TV for the past few weeks.

Speaking of TV, TNA’s December 28 edition did a 0.9 cable rating, but then jumped back up to a 1.1 for the January 4 show. This week’s show is the final one leading into Sunday’s Final Resolution PPV, which will feature the following matches:

NWA World Heavyweight Title – Elimination Match
Abyss (c) vs. Sting vs. Christian Cage

30 Minute Ironman Match
Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle

X Division Championship
Christopher Daniels (c) vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Chris Sabin

NWA World Tag Team Championship
LAX (c) vs. Team 3D

Last Man Standing
AJ Styles vs. Rhino

PCS Final Event
(Current Standings after five events)
1. Austin Starr 18 pts
2. Jay Lethal 15 pts
2. Alex Shelley 15 pts
4. Sonjay Dutt 14 pts
5. Senshi 13 pts

Aside from TV, TNA is doing a lot lately online to promote its brand, including official pages on YouTube, MySpace, IMEEM, FLICKR and iTunes, all of which you can link up to here.
