Midget Star Dies, Wrestlers to Star in Commercials, Dream Tag Match Signed & More

Cowboy Lang, who was a star midget wrestler, died last week, and Greg Oliver of SLAM! Wrestling has an obituary here. We wish his family and loved ones condolences.

– Our friends over at Not a True Ending have posted reviews for the XBOX 360 and PS2 versions of Smackdown vs. Raw 2007, so check them out.

– RAW Diva Candice Michelle will be in this year’s GoDaddy.com Super Bowl commercial, the third consecutive year in which she will do so, according to Pro Wrestling Insider. Danica Patrick and Valerie Thompson will also be in the ad. In other commercial news, Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Hart and Kip James recently filmed a Bud Light spot, according to 1wrestling.com.

TMZ has a story up about Hogan, who recently attended a boxing match with Anna Nicole Smith in Florida. Photos of their meeting have been everywhere as well. Hogan’s also scheduled to be Bubba The Love Sponge’s best man this weekend, according to several sources.

– Smackdown superstar Sylvain Grenier was pulled over Tuesday for going 96 MPH in a 55 MPH zone on Interstate 74 in Peoria. His $200 bond was paid by a WWE co-worker, but he was not used at the Smackdown tapings to which he was speeding. Read the full story in the Peoria Journal Star.

Modern Drunkard Magazine named Andre the Giant “The Greatest Drunk of All Time.”

– Hermie Sadler’s UWF promotion, which has held shows for TNA in the past, is promoting a tag-team dream match of Team 3D vs. Rick & Scott Steiner for February 3 in Wilson, NC. TNA had tried to book this match, but was never able to for various reasons, not least of which is the fact that Scott Steiner’s contract was never renewed. UWF has also re-designed their Web site, so check it out.
