Sony Pictures is in talks now with the writer of the first Spider-Man, David Koepp to pen the fourth installment in the series. Sony seems to be very happy with the early cut of Spider-Man 3 so is hoping to keep the franchise living.
There has long been talk that there would only be three films in the series and then that would be the end of it. But star Tobey Maguire has mentioned a few times that he wouldn’t mind donning the spandex a fourth time.
Besides Spider-Man, Koepp recently finished the script for George Lucas’ and Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones 4. Add that to Jurassic Park I & II, War Of The Worlds, and Mission Impossible and Koepp has turned into one of the premier screenwriters in all of Hollywood.
Spider-Man 3 is due out May 4.
