In Hindsight – Heroes 1-12, "Godsend"

Shows

Quick thought – if you love Prison Break but dislike Heroes, why are you spending all that time talking about Heroes? It’s just another reason why Amy Amatangelo annoys me the same way Bill Simmons annoys Eric.

Speaking of Eric, congrats on your Bears making it to the Big Game. I’m sure you didn’t have any doubt, but I think all non-Bears fans did, seeing as you’ve got an offence led by Grossman. Although I suppose that it’s better than having an Orton lead the team. Here’s to hoping that Manning has made it to the Super Bowl only to choke there.

On to the show. This is Arc 2, entitled “Are You On the List?”

Two Weeks Later…

Two weeks? Didn’t they get the memo about time lapses being a minimum of one year?

Odessa, TX
If you’re a fan of the Haitian, you’ll be happy to know that he’s getting better pay now that he’s actually speaking on the show. He’s up to something, but only he knows what it is and it’s apparent that Claire’s just a pawn in his game. We get some information on his “gift” as he can take memories away, but he can’t put them back, which plays to my theory about HRG having powers.

Anyway, HRG thinks that Claire’s memory of her powers are gone, and that’s OK with him. Claire, however, has a plan of her own, and that involves reconnecting with Zach (by jumping off of the – whatever that apparatus was – again), to try and at least be a friend with someone in Texas. She really wants to see Peter again (yikes! Jailbait) but the Haitian won’t let her, so I guess Zach is the next best thing?

Sylar’s still being held by HRG and his employers, and despite the best efforts of Audrey and Parkman, the FBI can’t find him. I’m sure the Parkman story is going somewhere, but right now it’s kind of tangential to everything else.

Las Vegas (or thereabouts), NV
Niki’s in the slammer, but Jessica makes her act crazy so she’s deemed a bit off and put into a rubber room. The big reveal here is that Niki does have the same power as Jessica, but doesn’t consciously use it. So you can bet that Niki isn’t in that rubber room for long. D.L.’s now indebted to Linderman somehow, and we’ll see if that plays a role later on. But for now… yeah, I’m not feeling this storyline.

New York, NY
Peter’s in a coma. Nathan and Peter’s mother are worried. Meanwhile, Nathan’s wife is apparently also Jack Bauer’s sister-in-law, but more about that in my 24 column. Peter snaps out of his coma after that recurring nughtmare where he’s Nitro and he’s in Stamford being chased by the New Warriors, and encounters an invisible man, played by Doctor Who (v9.0). Peter’s trying to head to Vegas, but we’ll see if he ends up going there now that he’s got Doctor Who (HEY! Doctor Who) to pester.

Hiro and Ando try to steal a samurai sword, only to find out that it’s a replica. Supplied by Linderman. Say, this Linderman fella seems to be involved in a lot of stuff, eh? So they head to Isaac’s studio, where Isaac, Simone and Nathan have already gathered. Turns out that Simone sells a lot of Isaac’s art to a guy in Vegas… gee, could that be Linderman? As the saying goes, curiouser and curiouser.

Finally, HRG visits Mohinder and we get a Professor X/Magneto moment between the two. HRG gives Mohinder his card, which has an access code for this website but if they flashed it, I didn’t see it.
